This year marks the 10 year anniversary of my small business š
In the UK, the long-term survival rate for small businesses is roughly 30ā35% at the 10-year mark according to figures commonly derived from UK Office for National Statistics business demography data.
And salons are not exactly an āeasy modeā business either. Youāre dealing with:
* repeat-client retention
* staffing challenges
* rent and utilities
* trends changing constantly
* physical burnout
* and a service that depends heavily on reputation and trust
A salon lasting a decade usually means it adapted through multiple economic shifts, changing client habits, probably COVID disruptions, and all the day-to-day operational chaos people outside the industry never see.
Iāve been in the hairdressing industry for 40 years, the hair replacement world for 15 & 10 years in my own space
Still here. Still growing.
