Important Announcement:

From 1 March 2026 the law, in Scotland, changed regarding the rights to burial. In particular, the purchase of a new lair from this date. Burial rights will be valid for 25 years.

After the initial 25 years, the owner of the burial rights can apply for a 10 year extension, which can be renewed indefinitely. The fee for this has yet to be determined.

Burial authorities must contact lair holders at least 3 months before the 25 year expiry to explain the renewal options available.
If the grave/lair is not renewed, the burial rights will expire, meaning no further burials can take place and no memorials or headstones can be added.

It is important to ensure your contact details are updated when your circumstances change.

This burial law does not apply to grave purchases before this date.
Should you have any queries, feel free to call or pop in to discuss.

Keith
Weighand
Newtongrange

It is with great sadness that we announce the peacefull passing of Keith William Patrick Weighand on 19 November 2025 following a short illness. Diagnosed only months ago, Keith faced everything with courage and dignity.
He passed away with his loving family beside him. A deeply loved husband to June and a much loved part of the family as step-dad, papa, cherished brother, uncle and friend to many. Keith will be deeply missed, He will be remembered for his kindness, gentle nature and the humour that brought warmth and laughter wherever he went.
As Keith wished, a Direct Cremation will take place, and the family will gather privately to remember him with love.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks for all the messages, cards, flowers and thoughts shared during this difficult time. Your support has been a great comfort.
As the funeral cannot be attended, those who wish to honour Keith are warmly invited to remember him in their own way – perhaps by sharing a favorite story, raising a glass in his memory, doing something kind for someone else or simply pausing to think of the laughter and light Keith brought into many lives.
Keith will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
