Volunteers play an important role in our trust by providing additional services to our patients and supporting our work in a variety of ways.

People volunteer for lots of different reasons. For instance, they may be wanting to use their free time in an enjoyable and positive way, to 'give something back’ to a service which has helped them or someone they know, to share their knowledge and experience, to meet new people or to gain valuable experience for work or further education.

Because most roles will involve contact with vulnerable adults, our volunteers must be able to provide two character references, pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, an occupational health check (drivers only) and be prepared to undergo relevant training.

The volunteer services co-ordinators can help you find the right volunteer placement. They are especially looking for volunteer drivers.

Welcome Jessica Trimmer to our Reception team. Jess is working full-time alongside Sally.

Sally and Jess are the frontline contacts and have been trained to signpost our patients to the correct clinician in a timely and efficient manner.

Due to a Red Weather Warning for extreme heat covering part of the county on Wednesday and Thursday this week, along with UKHSA declaring a Red Heat Health Alert across the region; please remember if out and about over the coming days or you are planning a car journey
☀️ Try and avid being out during the hottest times of the day (usually between 1-4pm).
💧 Stay hydrated, always ensure you have a bottle of water with you if travelling.
🚗 If driving ensure you have water and any other emergency supplies in your vehicle including medication etc.
🐕👵 Don't forget to look after animals and vulnerable relatives/neighbours.
🚑 If you or someone else feels unwell, be sure to seek advice from the NHS website or 111. Call 999 if required for any life-threatening emergency but remember services will be stretched over the coming days.

You can now recycle ♻️ your used inhalers here at the surgery. Please remove any patient identifying information and hand your inhalers to reception staff who will place in our recycling bin for collection.
