I am happy to announce that we are now official partners with Greenock Morton Football Club 💙💛🤍

Greenock Morton are delighted to announce a new partnership with Active Physiotherapy Clinic, who will become the club's official physiotherapy providers for both the first team and academy.

The partnership sees Active Physiotherapy Clinic provide physiotherapy support across the club, helping to deliver high-quality care and rehabilitation services to players throughout the first team and academy setup.

The clinic is led by Alyson Fielding, a familiar face at Cappielow, having previously served as the club’s first-team physiotherapist for a decade. Alyson's association with the club stretches back more than 20 years.

Throughout Alyson's 25-year football career, she has also worked at clubs such as St Mirren, Raith Rovers and Partick Thistle, and with her wealth of knowledge and experience, she was our top candidate to provide expert clinical services to our players through injury diagnosis and rehab.

Alyson had approaches from other clubs, but her passion towards Morton was too big an appointment to miss, and we are delighted to have secured her services for the season ahead.

Everyone at Greenock Morton would like to welcome Alyson and the team at Active Physiotherapy Clinic, and we look forward to working together to support the health, well-being, and performance of our players.

On today’s partnership announcement, Alyson Fielding said: “I am absolutely delighted to be returning to Cappielow through this new partnership between Greenock Morton and Active Physiotherapy Clinic.”

“This club has been a huge part of my life for more than 20 years, and I have so many great memories from my time working with the first team. Morton has always held a special place in my heart, so to have the opportunity to continue that connection and support both the first-team and academy players is something I'm very proud of.”

“I’m passionate about helping the squad perform at their best, recover from injury and stay healthy, and we're looking forward to working closely with the players and staff throughout the club.”

🏥 Recovering from surgery? Active Physiotherapy Clinic can help guide your rehabilitation journey 🏥

Many people believe they need to wait weeks or even months before starting physiotherapy after surgery… but that’s not always the case.

At Active Physiotherapy Clinic, we regularly support patients recovering from:
🦵 Knee surgery
🦿 Hip replacements
🦶 Foot & ankle surgery
💪 Ligament repairs
🩹 Shoulder surgery

Starting rehabilitation early can often help improve mobility, rebuild strength, reduce stiffness and restore confidence sooner.

Every recovery programme is tailored specifically to your surgery, your lifestyle and your goals. Whether your aim is getting back to everyday activities, returning to work, or back playing sport, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Your recovery deserves the right support 💙

Neck pain that keeps coming back? 👀

You might be missing one very important piece of the puzzle…

At Active Physiotherapy Clinic, we see this ALL the time.

People come in with:
🤕 Neck pain
😣 Stiffness
💥 Tension headaches

They’ve had massages, stretches or treatment before… it eases for a while… then suddenly the pain creeps back again.

Sound familiar?

Quite often, the issue isn’t just the pain itself… it’s poor neck stability.
Your neck (cervical spine) relies on deep stabilising muscles to support and control movement properly.

But modern life isn’t exactly helping:
📱 Hours on phones
💻 Desk work and laptops
🚗 Long drives
😴 Poor sleeping positions

Over time, these deeper support muscles can become weak or “switch off”, leaving bigger muscles to overwork and tighten up.

That’s usually when the pain cycle begins.

One simple exercise we often use is the chin tuck.

It looks easy… but done properly, it can make a huge difference 👇
👉 Gently draw your chin straight backwards
👉 Keep the movement slow and controlled
👉 Avoid tilting your head down
👉 Think “making a double chin” rather than bending forward

Why it helps:
✅ Improves neck stability
✅ Reduces stiffness and tension
✅ Helps posture
✅ Can ease tension headaches
✅ Targets the root cause, not just symptoms

The reality is…

Most people either:
❌ Never do these exercises
❌ Or perform them incorrectly
…and that’s often why neck pain keeps returning.

If your neck pain keeps flaring up, it may be time to look beyond just treating the symptoms.

At Active Physiotherapy Clinic we’ll assess the bigger picture, identify the cause and help you build a plan that actually lasts 💙

☀️ The warmer weather is finally arriving… and your body WILL feel the difference during training.

Whether you’re out walking the hills, running along the waterfront, smashing gym sessions, cycling, playing football or getting back into exercise after winter, heat changes how your body performs.

💧 You sweat more
⚡ Electrolytes are lost faster
🏃 Fatigue can creep in earlier
🤕 Cramp, dizziness and headaches become far more common

Hydration isn’t just about drinking more water.

When you train hard or sweat heavily, your body also loses important electrolytes like sodium, potassium and magnesium, all essential for healthy muscle function, recovery and performance.

A few simple tips for training in the heat:

🥤 Hydrate BEFORE training, not just afterwards
🧂 Replace electrolytes during longer or intense sessions
☀️ Expect training to feel harder in warmer temperatures
🦵 Prioritise recovery when the heat increases

At Active Physiotherapy Clinic we see it every year… the sun comes out, training volume suddenly jumps, and tight calves, sore hamstrings and niggling injuries start appearing 👀

Train smart this summer and your body will thank you for it 💙

Your core is more than just your abs.

It includes your pelvic floor, diaphragm and deep back muscles - all working together to support, stabilise ans move you.

When your core is working well, everything feels easier. When its not, even simple tasks can feel hard.

Pain, tension or that "off" feeling during exercise or everyday movement could be a sign your core needs some support.

We can help you build a stronger, more connected core so you can move, train and live with confidence

Still buzzing from the Run last week 🌙🏃‍♀️✨

Huge thanks to Scott and Adam for letting me join the team and provide some physio support throughout the event. Loved being part of it and helping where I could!

I completely forgot to take photos during the chaos, mud, and madness 🤦‍♀️ so this is pretty much all I managed to capture from the day!

I even made it out for a lap during the Witching Hour… and honestly… SO much fun 🧙‍♀️🌲.

Safe to say I’ve caught the bug and I’m seriously considering signing up for next year’s challenge myself 👀🔥

Also a massive thank you to everyone who donated towards and helping the girls get to Paris to dance. Your support means so much and is hugely appreciated 🖤✨

What an atmosphere, what a team, what a 24hours 🧙‍♀️🪾

Back where the action lives 🙌

Last week, Active Physiotherapy Clinic was on the ground all week—rehabbing, supporting training days, and pitch-side cover at Lesser Hampden for Queen’s Park FC vs Dunfermline ⚽️

Nothing beats being part of the game again and reconnecting with familiar faces 👊

A big thank you to for looking after me and making me feel so welcome 🤝

Physio in sport isn’t just treatment—it’s performance, prevention, and keeping players doing what they do best 💥
