Look what I found! 👀

This client attended looking for an opinion on a persistent rustling sensation in the ear. Following several GP appointments, they had been treated with a nasal spray and antibiotics before being referred to Audiology.

On examination, the cause of the rustling was identified — a small piece of dry kitchen roll within the ear canal! 😳 It took just two seconds to remove, and the rustling immediately stopped.

On closer inspection, some small dark marks were also noted on the canal walls. As a precaution, the client attended their local pharmacy and was advised to use Ear Calm.

At review approximately a week later, there was no further rustling and the previously noted dark marks had completely cleared.

In the end, Audiology wasn’t actually needed — a quick look in the ear identified a very simple cause and provided an immediate solution!

A very happy client! 👂😊
