‼️IMPORTANT UPDATE: Delay with Hospital Clinic Letters

Please be aware that, due to a major restructuring of secretarial services across Grantham, Lincoln and Boston hospitals, there are currently significant delays in the typing and processing of clinic letters.

This may affect our surgery, as there is likely to be a delay in receiving clinic letters and responses to queries sent directly to the hospital. Unfortunately, SPH secretaries are unable to contact individual hospital departments to expedite these requests.

If you need to chase a clinic letter, hospital appointment or test result, please contact the Patient Services Hub on 01522 573200.

πŸ©ΊπŸ«€ NHS Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening Programme:

The NHS AAA Screening Programme offers a FREE, quick and simple ultrasound scan to men in England during the year they turn 65.

The screening checks for an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) β€” a dangerous swelling in the main artery that can become serious if left undetected. Early detection helps save lives.

The service has been running in Lincolnshire since 2013. Men are automatically invited for screening during their 65th year, and the programme also provides ongoing surveillance for patients diagnosed with aneurysms.

Appointments are available at 12 locations across Lincolnshire:

πŸ“ Boston – Pilgrim Hospital
πŸ“ Bourne Health Clinic
πŸ“ Gainsborough – John Coupland Hospital
πŸ“ Grantham Community Diagnostic Centre
πŸ“ Mablethorpe – Marisco Medical Practice
πŸ“ Market Deeping – The Deepings Practice
πŸ“ Lincoln – The Heath Surgery
πŸ“ Lincoln – The Nettleham Medical Practice
πŸ“ Lincoln – North Hykeham Health Centre
πŸ“ Louth County Hospital
πŸ“ Skegness Community Diagnostic Centre
πŸ“ Spalding – Johnson Community Hospital

If you receive an invitation, please make sure you attend your appointment. Screening is quick, painless, and could save your life.

An abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a weakening and expansion of the aorta, the main blood vessel in the body. Large aneurysms are rare but can be very serious.
