From Top 20 to the Tennis Club Lawn: Right at Home Grantham's Summer of Celebration

There are some days that remind you exactly why you do the work you do, and Wednesday 5th August was one of them. Under glorious sunshine, Grantham Tennis Club & Gym opened its gates to the second annual Dementia Adventure Picnic — an afternoon of warmth, connection, and quiet celebration bringing together clients, families, carers, and friends from across our community.

Dementia Adventure is about reminding people living with dementia, and those who love them, that life outdoors, in good company, doesn't stop mattering. This year's picnic felt less like an event and more like a homecoming, filled with laughter, blankets, sandwiches, and the easy chatter of neighbours who genuinely care for one another.

The day carried extra pride, coming shortly after Right at Home Grantham was named among the Top 20 home care providers nationwide — out of some three thousand — and the very best in the Grantham area. That honour belongs to everyone who showed up: our care team, our clients, and the families who trust us with what matters most.

Claire Parker, a previous client, captured it beautifully: "It was incredible to connect with the local community again, to sit and share stories, listen to the music, and just feel part of something."

Billie Crofts, our Registered Manager, put it simply: "This is a way for us to give back to the community and to our clients, and to show how we continue to make a difference, year after year."

Following the success of last year's event, we're delighted to invite you and members of our community to join us for our 2nd Annual Dementia-Friendly Big Green Picnic!

This picnic is a wonderful opportunity for people living with dementia, along with their carers, family members and friends, to come together in a friendly and welcoming outdoor setting. We're proud to bring this event back for a second year and can't wait to create another enjoyable afternoon for everyone involved.

Hosted by Right at Home Grantham, this event forms part of the national Big Green Picnic initiative led by Dementia Adventure.

What a brilliant team meeting we had this week, celebrating the people who make such a difference every single day across Grantham and Newark.

From sharing wonderful client and carer moments that remind us why we do what we do, to recognising the hard work and dedication of our team members who have successfully completed their Care Certificates, it was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the impact we are making in our community.

We were also delighted to welcome several new members to the team. As our service continues to grow, it is inspiring to see more caring, passionate individuals joining us on our mission to support people to live independently in their own homes.
A huge congratulations goes to those team members celebrating 2 years of service with us. Your commitment, compassion and dedication to our clients has helped shape the caring culture we are so proud of today. Thank you for everything you do.

We also took time to celebrate our Employee of the Month for June – a well-deserved recognition for someone who consistently goes above and beyond for both clients and colleagues.
Looking around the room, it was a powerful reminder that our team is made up of people who genuinely care. Every visit, every conversation and every act of support helps improve the lives of those we serve.
