We recently had the privilege of conducting the funeral of a former Metropolitan Police Officer.
It is always an honour to be entrusted with the responsibility of caring for someone at the end of their life, but there is something particularly poignant about saying farewell to a person who dedicated so much of their own life to serving and protecting others.
A career in the police service is one built on commitment, courage and service to the community. Today was an opportunity to honour not only the person they were to their family and friends, but also the contribution they made throughout their years of service.
As Funeral Directors, moments like this remind us why what we do matters. Behind every funeral is a unique life, a unique story and a family placing their trust in us during one of the most difficult times they will ever face.
It was a privilege to help give them the farewell they deserved, and to support their family throughout the day.
Rest peacefully, and thank you for your service. 🖤👮

Then & Now 🕰️📸
A fascinating glimpse into the past — and how much a place can change while still keeping echoes of its history.

The first photo shows L.Solomon Furnishing Undertaker, with its striking old sign and entrance. The second shows the same location today, giving us a chance to compare the architecture and streetscape across the years.

It’s amazing to think about all the people, stories and moments that have passed through this spot. Then and now — history hiding in plain sight.

We recently had the honour of carrying out a service to celebrate the life and service of a dedicated Traffic Officer who gave so much to the safety and wellbeing of our community.
As family, friends, colleagues, and fellow officers came together to say a final farewell, a dignified es**rt accompanied them on this solemn journey.
We remember a life of service, courage, commitment, and sacrifice. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the officer’s family, loved ones, colleagues, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing them.
May they rest in peace, and may their service and memory never be forgotten. 🕊️
