What a fantastic day we had yesterday at Mayflower Care Home for our Caribbean-themed party! 🌴☀️🍹

Residents, families, and staff enjoyed a wonderful Caribbean BBQ with all the trimmings, bringing plenty of sunshine, colour, and great atmosphere to the home.

A special thank you to our wonderful singer, Lauren Austin, for providing fantastic entertainment throughout the day. Your amazing performance helped create a fun and lively atmosphere, and our residents thoroughly enjoyed singing along and dancing to the music. 🎶💃🕺

A huge thank you to our amazing Activities Team for all their hard work in organising the event, decorating the home so beautifully, and taking charge of the BBQ. Your dedication and creativity helped make the day so special.

Thank you also to our Kitchen Team for preparing such delicious food, and to all the staff who helped throughout the day to ensure everything ran smoothly.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came along and joined in the fun. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, and our residents thoroughly enjoyed the day, the food, the music, and spending time together making happy memories.

A truly memorable day enjoyed by all! ❤️

Mental Health Awareness Week 🌧️💚

Today our staff took on an inflatable assault course… and the weather tried to join in too! ☔😂

We may have been under pressure… but nobody’s mental health was feeling deflated! 🎈💪

A huge well done to everyone who got involved, embraced the rain, and proved that laughter, teamwork, and a little friendly competition can do wonders for wellbeing. 💚

Congratulations Mary

🦙 A Woolly Wonderful Day at Mayflower! 🦙
We had some very special (and very fluffy!) visitors at the home today. A huge thank you to Lower Bush Alpacas for bringing along two of the most adorable guests we’ve ever hosted: Hawthorne and Eric!
Our residents were absolutely delighted to meet these gentle boys. There were smiles all around as we spent the morning petting them and learning all about their quirky personalities.

Today's Highlights:
• Snack Time: Many of our residents got hands-on and enjoyed feeding Hawthorne and Eric their favorite treats! 🥕

• Sensory Joy: Everyone loved feeling how incredibly soft their fleece is—it was a wonderful sensory experience for all.

• New Friends: Eric and Hawthorne were total pros, making their way around to say hello to everyone and posing for plenty of photos.
It’s not every day you get an alpaca in the garden (or the lounge!), and the joy they brought to the home was truly heart-melting.

🇬🇧 St George’s Day Celebrations at Mayflower! 🌹
We had a proper "knees-up" yesterday at Mayflower Care Home to celebrate St George’s Day! The home was filled with music, laughter, and plenty of community spirit.
A massive thank you to the wonderful Sarah Starkey, who led us in a fantastic, old-fashioned cockney sing-along. From Lambeth Walk to Maybe It's Because I'm a Londoner, the atmosphere was absolutely electric! 🎤🎹
