Lucy’s Complementary Therapy Fully qualified and insured Massage Therapist offering a variety of complementary therapies. Accepting female clients only, thank you for your understanding.

I became a fully qualified Massage Therapist in 2017, qualifying at the Bodyology School of Massage. Since then, I have expanded my knowledge and expertise into other areas of complementary therapy, providing services such as Hopi-ear candling and cupping therapy. My experience includes working for a complementary clinic, which then led me to create my own business - Lucy's Complementary Therapy.

I take a holistic approach to my work - Ensuring to look at an individual's whole being – physical, mental and emotional. My goal is to promote the health of my clients and support them into a happier, healthier lifestyle.

My first-time client came in for a facial massage, so I combined Kobido, buccal and lifting massage techniques to create a treatment tailored to her needs.

The results speak for themselves ✨

As you can see in the before and after photos, there's a more defined jawline, lifted cheekbones and an overall sculpted, refreshed appearance.

Techniques such as Kobido, buccal massage and sculpting/lifting massage are particularly popular for mature skin because they combine deep muscle work with lymphatic drainage to create an immediate, natural-looking lift.

Men's skin is generally thicker and subjected to different stressors, such as daily shaving, which can lead to sensitivity and irritation. Men also carry high amounts of daily stress in their jaw, temples, and neck, which causes muscle tension, headaches, and a fatigued facial structure.

Kobido works on the fascia and deeper muscles to release this built-up tension, making it an essential grooming and wellness ritual.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬:

𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰: Brisk, rhythmic strokes boost microcirculation, delivering vital oxygen and nutrients to the skin. This resolves dullness and gives the face a fresh, rosy, and healthy flush.

𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠: The stimulation of the facial muscles encourages the production of elastin and collagen. This helps fill out fine lines and firms sagging areas naturally.

𝐓𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐥𝐮𝐢𝐝 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞: Lymphatic drainage techniques eliminate puffiness, which sharpens the jawline and brightens the under-eye area.

𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟: By relaxing tension in the jaw (ideal for clients with bruxism) and forehead, the face instantly appears more rested and open.

Here at Lucy's Complementary Therapy we believe in results. This is why we do not offer any treatments that we do not think will give you results you can see and feel.

Kobido is a traditional Japanese facial massage that dates back to the 15th century and is often celebrated as a "natural facelift without surgery". As you can see in the photos of my lovely client, her face looks lifted, brighter and tighter after her Kobido massage treatment.

As well as aesthetic benefits, this massage helps address fluid retention and muscle tension. Your face feels 'de-puffed' and more relaxed... Oh and did we mention the beautiful glow too?

Being consistent with Kobido massage is crucial because its most transformative effects are cumulative. By repeatedly working the deep facial muscles, fascia, and lymphatic system, regular sessions train the tissue to behave differently over time.

While massage isn't a substitute for movement, stretching, and good workstation setup, it can be a valuable part of managing the physical demands of a desk-based lifestyle.

If you spend most of your day behind a screen and regularly feel stiff, tight, or achy, your body may be asking for a little extra care 🤍

One of the biggest misconceptions about massage therapy is that it’s simply a luxury.

People often see massage as something only associated with spas, holidays, or treating yourself once in a while. But in reality, massage therapy can play an important role in supporting both physical and mental wellbeing.

Many people spend their days sitting at desks, standing for long hours, training intensely, carrying stress, or pushing through pain and tension without ever giving their body time to recover. Over time, that stress shows up physically. Tight shoulders, headaches, back pain, poor sleep, fatigue, anxiety, muscle soreness, and burnout are only a few of the problems that may arise from everyday activities and stressors.

Massage therapy is not just about relaxation. It can help reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, support recovery, calm the nervous system, and create space for the body and mind to reset.

We normalise being constantly stressed and exhausted, but often view rest and recovery as “extra” or unnecessary. The truth is, taking care of your body should never be seen as a luxury.

Your health matters. Your recovery matters. And you don’t have to wait until your body is in pain to start looking after it!
