Don’t just take our word for it… 💬

We’re proud to provide personalised, compassionate care for every patient and family we support — and feedback like this means so much to our team.

“I have had the pleasure of being truly looked after by Dr Onen. She really made me feel comfortable and reassured me. Gave me her full attention.

Got me sorted with blood test done on the Monday and by Wednesday evening we had the results and now I'm feeling much better. Highly recommend.”

Thank you to our patients for trusting us with your care.

Welcome to our monthly series, Ask the GP, where we get to know the doctors behind Chelmsford Private GPs a little better.

This month, we asked Dr Yenushka Abeyratna:

“What’s the most rewarding part of being a GP?”

“The most rewarding part about being a GP is having the privilege of building trusting relationships with patients over time and being there for them through both the joyful and challenging moments in their lives. Knowing that careful listening, a kind conversation or thoughtful advice can make a real difference to someone's physical and mental wellbeing is incredibly meaningful. It is a role that allows me to care for the whole person, not just their illness and that is what makes being a GP so fulfilling.”

At Chelmsford Private GPs, we're proud to have doctors like Dr Abeyratna, who bring genuine care and compassion to every consultation. Want to experience GP care that puts the whole person first? Get in touch to book your appointment today.

🌿 Tomorrow marks the start of Wellness Month, so we're sharing some fascinating facts from the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine.

Did you know that:

🏃 1 in 6 deaths is linked to physical inactivity

❤️ Loneliness can be as harmful to health as smoking 20 ci******es a day

😴 One poor night's sleep can temporarily affect blood sugar regulation

🥗 Around 95% of serotonin is produced in the gut

📱 Excessive social media use has been linked to increased inflammation markers

🧠 Chronic stress can affect areas of the brain responsible for memory and decision-making

The good news? Small, sustainable lifestyle changes can have a significant impact on your long-term health and wellbeing.

This Wellness Month, take a moment to think about which area of your health could benefit from a little more attention.

Which fact surprised you most? Let us know in the comments below. 👇

"Access matters when you’re unwell” 🕒

When you’re feeling unwell, waiting days for an appointment or struggling to get seen can add unnecessary stress at an already difficult time.

That’s why we prioritise:

🔹 Same day appointment availability where possible
🔹 Early morning, evening, and Saturday appointments when required
🔹 Convenient on-site parking
🔹 Longer appointment times, so nothing feels rushed
🔹 Continuity of care with a familiar GP, so you already feel understood and don't have to repeat yourself a thousand times over

Because when you need care, access shouldn’t be a barrier—it should be the first step to feeling better.
