You can get the free NHS flu vaccine if you:

* are aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2027)
* are aged 18 to 64 and have certain long-term health conditions
are pregnant
* live in a care home
* are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer's allowance
* live with someone who has a weakened immune system
* are experiencing homelessness or staying in a homeless hostel or night shelter

If you are eligible you will also be offered Pneumonia and/or Shingles vaccination.

We have been informed by East Lancashire Hospitals Trust that staff working in the blood sciences departments at Blackburn Royal Hospital and Burnley General Hospital will be taking part in industrial action on the following dates:

15 to 19 June - 22 to 26 June - 29 June to 3 July - 6 to 10 July

Unfortunately, this means the laboratories at both hospitals will have a reduced capacity, which will lead to longer waiting times for patients to receive results of blood tests.

We appreciate this may be frustrating, but we would politely ask patients not to contact the practice to chase up the results of blood tests, as we will be unable to make things happen any quicker.
