Yale University researchers discovered something remarkable deep in the Ecuadorian Amazon: a fungus called Pestalotipora microspora that naturally consumes plastic waste. This tiny organism breaks down polyester polyurethane—one of the most durable synthetic materials we've created—by using it as its primary carbon source.

It's a reminder that sometimes the solutions to our biggest environmental challenges aren't found in laboratories or technology centers, but in the ecosystems we're still learning to protect. Nature's been solving complex problems for millions of years. We're finally starting to listen.

UPDATE: This tip works on the new version of the Calminity device, not on the original ones (including my first one I bought in April). However, they told me that if you cover the device with a cloth, it doesn't stop the frequency transmitting into the room (I used a face cloth to block out the flashing LED). ✨

For those who have bought the Calminity device (great little frequency generator): If, like me, you find the flashing LED light annoying, this is how you switch it off (whoo hoo!) .... from my Trustpilot review -The one frustration was the flashing LED light so I mentioned this to Calminity. This was their email reply (they replied within a day):
"Here's the trick: press and hold the BACKLIGHT button (top row, far right) for a few seconds (around 3 to 5 seconds). This turns off both the screen light AND the LED completely, while the device keeps running your frequency in the background. So you can set 7.83 Hz overnight and have a totally dark bedroom, no flashing, no glow, while it works away all night. Problem solved!"

Word of warning - delivery is quite slow, about 3 weeks, but worth the wait. P.S I am not being paid to promote this brand, and maybe other devices are available?!
