"Hello, I’m Becca working with children aged 4 to 12, supporting a wide range of emotional, social and developmental needs.
Children come to play therapy for many different reasons. Some may be experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, low self-esteem, friendship difficulties, loss, family change, or challenges at school. Some children are neurodivergent or experience and communicate with the world in different ways, including those who are non-speaking or have sensory differences. I have extensive experience supporting children with complex additional needs, including within a specialist setting, using a neuroaffirming, inclusive and child-centred approach.
Play therapy can also be helpful for any child who simply needs some dedicated time and space with a trusted adult—somewhere to process, explore, and express thoughts and feelings that may feel confusing or difficult to put into words.
My approach is child-centred, gentle, and trauma-informed. I provide a calm and accepting space where children can express themselves in the way that feels most natural to them and at their own pace—whether through play, creativity, movement, sensory exploration, or words. I carefully adapt my approach to ensure therapy is accessible, meaningful, and supportive for every child.
I began working with children 20 years ago whilst studying Psychology and later trained as a teacher, gaining experience in both mainstream and specialist SEND schools. Over time, my passion has evolved into supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, and I’ve worked therapeutically with children and their families for the past 12 years.
