Hi, I’m Louise, in case we’re new to each other, or it’s just been a while since I last showed up here properly!

I’m a BANT-registered nutritional therapist, and I specialise in supporting families with child and maternal nutrition
⭐️ gut and digestive health,
⭐️ picky eating, food refusal, ARFID, sensory sensitivity,
⭐️ food sensitivities,
⭐️ immune health,
⭐️ neurodivergent nutrition, including ADHD, autism, and dyslexia.

I also look at the link between food, mood, and emotional regulation, because mealtimes are never really just about the food.

I’m not only a nutritional therapist, though, I’m a parent who truly gets it.

I’m raising a neurodivergent household with a food refuser myself, and that lived experience sits behind everything I do.

Maybe that’s you right now. Mealtimes that have quietly become a nightly negotiation.

A recent diagnosis that’s left you wondering what it actually means for meals, snacks, or supplements.

A tummy that’s never quite settled, even after being told to “wait and see.”

Or just a constant, low hum of worry that you’re not doing enough, even though you’re doing everything you have the energy for.

If any of that sounds familiar, welcome. I’d love to help you simplify the overwhelm.

Whatever’s on your mind, a fussy eater, a worry about gut health, a new diagnosis you’re trying to navigate, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

My free 20-minute discovery call is a no-pressure way to talk it through and see if we’re a good fit.

You don’t need to have it all figured out before we talk, that’s exactly what the call is for.

One in three children leave primary school overweight or obese. This week, the government announced the biggest shake-up of school food standards in a decade to help change that.

🍟🍔 No more deep frying, oven-baked chips only, limits on puddings, higher-fibre bread, and processed meat like sausages, nuggets and ham cut back to once a week. Full breakdown in the carousel above. 🧁🌭

This is fantastic news, and I’m genuinely behind it. It’s exactly the kind of change that will benefit our children’s health for years to come.

📣 But I want to say something for a specific group of families too, the ones I support in clinic every week.

For a child with restricted eating, food anxiety, sensory sensitivity, or ARFID, none of this is a choice.

It isn’t fussiness, and it isn’t a child being difficult. For many of these children, it’s fear, a genuine, diagnosable eating disorder, not a preference. Most of them are desperate to eat what their friends and family eat.

They just can’t, not yet, and not without the right support.

With time and the right help, many children can move toward foods that are less processed and richer in the nutrients they need, but that shift is rarely quick, and it isn’t free.

In clinic, moving from an ultra-processed chicken nugget to a homemade, oven-baked one, and eventually to chicken breast, can take months. Sometimes years.

I’m talking from a parents perspective too, eventually my son was able to enjoy less processed chicken options 🙌

So alongside celebrating these changes, I want schools and the wider system to see this group of children too, not left behind by standards that assume every child can simply eat what’s put in front of them.

If your child is one of them, you’re not doing anything wrong, and neither are they.

I know several of the families I support are already bracing for this, children coming home from school having missed lunch because nothing on the new menu feels safe to eat, which shows up later as poor focus and rough afternoons.

If that’s your family, I see you, and I’d love to help. 💚

My son tried oysters this summer. He refused the snails, fair enough!

That one moment was the highlight of my whole summer, and I want to tell you why.

My son is sensory sensitive and has a real fear of new foods, so his diet has been a restricted one.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve used everything I know as a nutritional therapist, and as his mum, to support him with it.

We’ve respected his food preferences, never pushed, and gently, gradually opened the door to new foods when he was ready.

It hasn’t been linear.

We’ve lost “safe” foods along the way. Some holidays have been genuinely stressful, with very restricted choices and a lot of quiet worry on my part about whether we were getting it right.

This holiday was different. We celebrated the wins instead of focusing on what was still hard.

He’s become properly curious about food. He can see that, as a family, we’re foodies, trying new things is just part of who we are on holiday, never a pressure, always an invitation.

So when the oysters came out, he tried one.
Not a fan.
But he tried it, and that’s everything.

If this sounds like your family the worry, the restricted list, the holidays that feel harder than they should.

You’re not doing anything wrong.

You just haven’t come across the bit of the puzzle that’s missing yet.

We’re not aiming for a perfect plate, we’re aiming for a calmer table, and that’s exactly what I support families through with picky eating, sensory feeding, or ARFID, one step at a time, together.

Whether that’s through my programmes First Steps, Fun on the Fork, or Mealtime Explorers, whichever fits where your child is right now.

If you’d like to talk it through, my free 20-minute discovery call is a low-pressure place to start. link in bio. 💛

Does the thought of eating out on holiday fill you with dread?

If your child has picky eating, sensory sensitivities, or only eats a small handful of safe foods, family holidays can feel more stressful than relaxing. New environments, different restaurants, unfamiliar foods. It’s a lot.

I’ve been there. And I’ve helped a lot of families navigate it too.

That’s why I’m running a live online workshop:
🌿 Picky Eating on Holiday
📅 Wednesday 8 July · 7:30–8:30pm BST
💻 Online — join from anywhere in the UK

In just one hour, I’ll walk you through:
☀️Why holidays are particularly hard for picky eaters (and what’s actually happening)
☀️Practical strategies to prepare your child before you travel
☀️How to handle unfamiliar menus, restaurants, and food environments
☀️What to pack, what to say, and how to keep mealtimes calm

Small group. Live Q&A. Practical takeaways you can use straight away.

End the session feeling calmer about your holiday, with a plan so you can enjoy family time 🙌

So excited to have my copy of Toddle About, South Bucks in hand 🙌 My advert is in there, alongside so many amazing local businesses supporting parents through the toddler years 🤍

I’ve already spotted a recipe I’ll be trying with my children, Cheese & Carrot Stars 🧀🥕

If you’d like a copy, I’ve got some available at my New Beginnings Postnatal Group ✨
And a little throwback… when my children were younger, the “Daily Activity Planner” was a lifesaver, I would have been lost without it!

As many of you know, I run introducing solids workshops, but I’m getting more and more enquiries about the toddler food refusal phase (which is so common, and can feel really stressful).

I’m currently putting together a new workshop to support you through it, sharing simple, realistic strategies to make mealtimes feel calmer again… from what to say, to how to respond, to helping your child feel confident trying new foods 🍽️

I’ll be running some evening webinars and I’m also happy to come and chat at local toddler groups 💛

If this is something you’d love support with, pop a ❤️ in the comments and I’ll be in touch ✨.

✨ New School Food Standards – A Positive Step Forward ✨

There’s been an exciting update to the UK School Food Standards, the first in over a decade and it’s great news for our children 🙌

The new guidance focuses on making school meals healthier, more balanced and more consistent across all schools. We’ll be seeing more fruit, vegetables and wholegrains, alongside a reduction in foods high in fat, salt and sugar. Deep-fried foods will be limited, sugary desserts reduced, and healthier choices will become the norm rather than the exception.

Importantly, these standards now include breakfast as well as lunch. A nutritious start to the day can make such a difference, and I’m really pleased to see this included. I look forward to seeing protein-packed, nourishing breakfasts that help children feel fuller for longer, supporting focus, learning and emotional regulation throughout the morning.

Good nutrition is essential for children to grow, learn and thrive. When children are well nourished, we often see improvements not just in energy and concentration, but also in behaviour and overall wellbeing. This is definitely a positive step forward 👏

That said, it’s important we don’t overlook children with sensory sensitivities or feeding challenges. For some, particularly those who struggle with textures (mixed foods, lumps, or certain consistencies), or who rely on familiar “safe” foods, these changes may feel overwhelming. In some cases, this can be linked to food phobia or highly selective eating.

Schools will need the right support and guidance to ensure these children are included, with flexibility around texture, presentation and food choices. Every child deserves to benefit from these improvements in a way that feels safe and manageable for them too 💛

Overall, a really positive move towards supporting healthier futures for our children 🌱

Neurodiversity Celebration Week 💛

A reminder that different minds bring different strengths and that includes in the way we support others.

Being neurodivergent shapes how I work in my clinic every day:
✨ Deep passion and determination
✨ Creative problem-solving
✨ Thinking outside the box
✨ Truly understanding sensory and mealtime challenges
✨ Keeping things simple, flexible and achievable for families

I know how overwhelming things can feel, especially when you’re worried about your child’s eating, symptoms, or daily struggles.

That’s why I focus on:
✔️ Root causes, not quick fixes
✔️ Bite-sized, realistic steps
✔️ Adapting support to each family
✔️ Celebrating every single win (big or small!)

Because progress doesn’t come from pressure, it comes from feeling supported.

Here’s to celebrating neurodiversity, in all its forms 💫

Did you notice how I struggled to walk and talk. 😂
