🎓 Celebrating Rhylie's Achievement! 🎓

We’re delighted to celebrate Rhylie Young, who joined us last year as an apprentice and has now successfully completed his Level 2 Onsite Trades & Maintenance Foundation Apprenticeship! Rhylie has worked incredibly hard throughout his apprenticeship, developing new skills, gaining valuable experience and becoming a valued part of the Hatchmoor team.

At Hatchmoor, we’re proud to support the development of the next generation, providing opportunities to learn, grow and build a rewarding career within care. 💙

A very special thank you goes to Emma Richards for her amazing performance. As always, she is loved by all of our residents and their families. We always receive such wonderful feedback about her, and everyone loved her amazing dress! 🎤👗

Thank you so much to everyone who donated. We raised £79, which will go straight back into our activities fund to support future events for our residents. We truly appreciate your generosity! ❤️

Monday 10th August we have a fantastic afternoon planned filled with great music, delicious treats, and fantastic company!

Here’s what we’ve got lined up:
🎤 Live Music: The lovely Emma will be performing live from 14:30 to 15:30!

🫖 Cream Tea: A delicious cream tea will be available for a small donation.

📅 When: Monday, 10th August

⏰ Time: 14:30 – 16:00

🎟️ Calling Friends & Family: If you're planning to come along and join us, please RSVP so we can make sure there are plenty of cream teas to go around!

🌦️ Weather Plan:

Plan A: Soaking up the sun in our Sensory Garden ☀️

Plan B: The classic British backup—bringing the garden party inside! ☔

Rain or shine, the music will be flowing and it's set to be a wonderful afternoon! ❤️

💙 What a wonderful 11 weeks it's been! 💙

Yesterday we said goodbye (for now!) to our amazing GTS students after another fantastic term of Thursday afternoon visits at Hatchmoor Nursing Home.

Over the past weeks we've shared so many special moments together. We started by getting to know one another, then enjoyed puzzles, board games, crosswords and word searches, card games, bingo, giant Scrabble, a music quiz, making Rice Krispie cakes, and finally ended with a lovely farewell afternoon. The students presented our residents with beautiful handmade cards, we played games together, and everyone enjoyed an ice cream.

These visits have created wonderful friendships across the generations. One resident says at the end of every session, "It's never long enough," which perfectly sums up how much these afternoons mean to everyone involved.

A huge thank you to all of the Great Torrington School GTS students and staff for your kindness, enthusiasm, and the smiles you've brought to our residents. You will all be greatly missed over the summer.

We can't wait to welcome GTS back on 10th September to begin another exciting programme with a new group of students.
Until then, have a fantastic summer, stay safe, and make lots of happy memories.
