Can we talk about the freedom you don’t realise you’re going to miss? 🙌🏻

Before having a baby, you could just… go.

Fancy a last-minute coffee with a friend? Sure.

Want to pop out and get your nails done? Why not?

Need some milk from the shop? Grab your keys and off you go.

Now? Getting out the house can feel like a full military operation.

Nappies? ✔️
Wipes? ✔️
Snacks? ✔️
Change of clothes? ✔️
Bottle? ✔️
Toy you absolutely cannot leave the house without? ✔️
Everyone actually wearing shoes? …debatable. 😂

“I just want to be able to do something without having to plan my entire life around it.” If you find yourself feeling this way it’s perfectly okay.

Missing your freedom doesn’t mean you don’t love your child. It doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful or that you’re a bad Mum. It just means you’re human.

Motherhood can bring so much love, but it can also mean giving up freedoms you once took completely for granted. It’s okay to grieve those little pieces of your old life while still being completely besotted with your little person. 🫶🏻

For the first time in a long time, I thoroughly enjoyed my day.

Splash park, picnic and family time. No devices, real conversation and being in the moment. I feel so much lighter 🧠

You don’t need to spend money to make beautiful memories. So don’t measure your motherhood by how much you did, how much you spent, or how picture-perfect the week looked.

Give yourself the credit you deserve 🫶🏻

🤍 Breastfeeding Awareness Week 🤍

This week, we’re recognising Breastfeeding Awareness Week by celebrating every parent who is feeding their baby with love, patience and care.

Breastfeeding can be a beautiful experience, but it can also be incredibly challenging.

It can bring joy, connection and comfort. It can also bring pain, exhaustion, self-doubt and tears.

For some, breastfeeding comes naturally. For others, it takes time, support and perseverance.
However for some, despite doing everything they could, breastfeeding wasn’t possible or wasn’t the right choice for them.

If breastfeeding is part of your journey, we hope you feel supported and if it wasn’t the journey you had hoped for, we see you too 🫶🏻

Let’s continue creating a world where parents are supported without judgement, where asking for feeding support is encouraged, and where every family’s story is respected 💕

We’re in this together.

“Mum can I have a snack?”
“Mum I’m hungry…”
“ Mum can I have another ice lolly?”
“ Mum can I have some juice?”

“Muuuuuuummmmm”

School holidays can put extra pressure on the family budget, especially with the cost of keeping the kids fed every day.

Here are some of the Kids Eat Free and discounted meal offers available across the UK this summer.

Whether you’re looking for a low-cost lunch while you’re out or a way to make your food budget stretch a little further, these offers could make a real difference.

Save this post so you’ve got the deals when you need them, and share it with another parent or carer who could benefit.

Comment below if you know of any others!
Bonus points it’s a local small business 😍

There is no “right” way to feel during pregnancy.

Every pregnancy, every family, and every journey is different. However your experience looks, you deserve the same compassion as anyone else.

If today’s post resonates with you, let this be your reminder that your feelings are valid. You don’t have to pretend everything is okay simply because you’re expecting a baby.

Hello! We thought it was about time we properly introduced ourselves. 🤍

Behind this page are two mums who know that pregnancy, birth and early parenthood don’t always go the way we imagined.

We’ve both experienced our own challenges during our perinatal journeys, and while every parent’s story is different, we understand how important it is to feel heard, supported and not judged.

Alongside being mums, we’re part of the People Participation Team, where we work alongside our local Perinatal Mental Health Service. Our role is to ensure that the voices and experiences of parents help shape and improve services, while creating opportunities for service users to learn new skills, build confidence, and become part of a supportive community.

We wanted to introduce ourselves because we believe this page should feel like more than just information. We hope it’s a place where you feel seen, where honest conversations are welcomed, and where you’re reminded that you don’t have to navigate this journey alone.

We’re so pleased you’re here, and we can’t wait to get to know you. 🤍

Tell us a little about yourself in the comments. Are you expecting, a new parent, or supporting someone on their perinatal journey? We’d love to welcome you to our community.

If you’ve made it to Friday, give yourself a pat on the back 🫶🏻

Whether you’re navigating the first week of the summer holidays, a tricky week of milestones or just your ‘standard’ week - you made it!

If you’re pregnant, postpartum, or dealing with your mental health, everything can feel much heavier, so give yourself the credit you deserve 💜

My small win this week is surviving the first week of summer holidays as a Mother where they are both able to move and be in different places in 0.0005 seconds! 😵‍💫

Tell me one small win from you week, let us celebrate with you 🥳

Can we change the conversation around postpartum recovery? 💜

Somewhere along the way, many of us have been led to believe that it takes six weeks to fully recover from childbirth.

This couldn’t be further from the truth, this is usually just the beginning for most mothers. Physical healing can take months and emotional and mental healing can take far longer.

Recovery is not linear, there is no finish line. Whether you’re 6 weeks, 6 months or even 2 years postpartum if you’re still healing that’s okay. You are not falling 🫶🏻

From one mother to another, give yourself time and patience. You deserve it
