Hey everyone, it's been a long time!
The truth is that I have been ill.. Well, to be honest I've been ill for 25 years.
Here's the low down if you are interested, if not here's a pic of some of the new fabrics I have on the Crimson Moon CSP website 🥰
I have an illness that affects what feels like my whole body, which has really declined massively the past couple of years. It affects my eyes, hands, feet, bladder (Hense making pads 😂) my behaviour and my mind.
Over the 25 years my GP diagnosed me incorrectly and therefore medicated me incorrectly.
However my GP retired this March and I got a new young, fantastic GP, who wouldn't sign off my repeat meds until he saw me..
Well, that was fun, he was a stranger to me that day, I was a jibbering, limping, crying wreck! But he thought of something that I never had and what my idiot previous GP hadn't considered.
I had blood tests and it turned out that I am Diabetic!
Long term undiagnosed diabetes, has caused neuropathy in my hands, feet and bladder, also eye retinopathy.
My old GP diagnosed me with mental health.
Diabetic hypos were previously diagnosed as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, social phobias and agrophbia.
Arms and leg pain were old injuries and aging, not neuropathy! Bladder issues again was aging, child birth, previous surgery but it's neuropathy.
Eye issues were linked to anxiety/ panic attacks because it comes and goes and not retinopathy.
Anyway, I'm now on all the correct meds, eating a diabetic friendly diet and I'm now in a position to sew more...
This is pretty crazy because in all these years, not even in pregnancy 21 and 23 years ago was I ever tested for diabetes.
So this is also a friendly warning, if you have been diagnosed with mental health please ask for a diabetes test. You can even have it done privately for between £40 and £70... Crazy huh.
So I'm back! 💪🥳 And will be making lots of ready made pads over the next few weeks around orders.
