Final week at and everyone got their certificates!

We reflected on the work done and spoke how we plan to maintain our progress.

Very proud of this group and the work covered, people have came a long way in the last 6 weeks.

It’s a privilege to work with the guys at Ifit. Thanks for having me. See you all soon ♥️.

Week 5 !

This week, we focused on self-esteem and explored how it can develop over time. We then looked at different ways we can work towards improving our self-esteem and completed a task designed to challenge some of our negative core beliefs.

Core beliefs are the deep-rooted beliefs we hold about ourselves. They can sound like:

• I’m not good enough
• I’m weak
• I’m not worthy
• I’m unlovable

We explored an old belief we wanted to change and worked on replacing it with a healthier, more balanced belief that we would like to adopt.
One of the most powerful parts of this process is collecting evidence to support our new beliefs. By recognising the things we have achieved, the strengths we have shown and the positive experiences we’ve had, we can begin to challenge those old beliefs and remind ourselves that we are good enough, worthy and deserving of positive things. 💛
Small changes in the way we see ourselves can make a big difference.

This week at was all about behavioural activation.

We discussed how we felt when we engaged in unhelpful behaviours -

😡 Angry, numb, depressed, isolated, low motivation, low self esteem, tunnel vision to use substances…
And how we felt when we engaged in helpful behaviours-
🤝 Confident, connected, more motivated, better self esteem, can get up and dressed in the morning, help others….

We then explored building on positive experiences, the guys saying they learned more about themselves and each other.

If we change our behaviours and stick at it , over time our feelings and thoughts can change too. Behavioural activation is great for improving self esteem, low moods and can also help with overcoming addictions.

Some examples of behavioural activation could be-
📖 Recovery meetings
🏋️‍♀️ Attending the gym
🎨 New hobbies or interests
🚶‍♂️Going for walks
🤝 Forming healthy social connections.
🎸 Finding meaningful activity

Can’t wait for week 5! ♥️

Today was rowdy and fun ! Lots of laughs and lots of learning.

🥶 Today we focused on our fight, flight or freeze response, learning more about how our bodies react when we experience stress, danger or feel overwhelmed.

🥤We completed our own “Fizz Scales” to build awareness of our emotional/physical responses and recognise the signs that we may be heading towards full-blown emotional dysregulation.

🪟 We also explored the Window of Tolerance and looked at different ways we can widen our window, helping us cope with everyday stresses and challenges more effectively.

🛑 To finish, we introduced the STOPP skill — a useful tool for those moments when we feel triggered or distressed. STOPP can help us pause, challenge our thoughts and behaviours, and work towards a healthier and more helpful outcome. 💭

Week 2 ! This week we were learning about unhelpful thinking styles. Most of us can think in these patterns from time to time.

🧠 Some common examples include:

All-or-nothing thinking: “If I don’t do it perfectly, I’ve failed.”
Catastrophising: Expecting the worst possible outcome.
Mind reading: Assuming you know what others are thinking.
Overgeneralising: Taking one negative experience and applying it to everything.
Personalising: Blaming yourself for things that aren’t entirely your responsibility.
Should statements: Telling yourself how you “should” or “must” behave.

💡 CBT isn’t about forcing yourself to think positively. It’s about noticing the thought, questioning whether it’s completely accurate, and looking for a more balanced perspective.

📝 We completed a task to challenge our thinking and find healthier perspectives.

We then finished with some relaxation 😌.

Low self-esteem can make your inner voice incredibly critical.

You might find yourself thinking:
* “I’m not good enough.”
* “Everyone else is doing better than me.”
* “I always get things wrong.”
* “People probably don’t like me.”
* “I don’t deserve good things.”

CBT can help you understand that thoughts aren’t always facts.

Together, we can begin to notice unhelpful thinking patterns, question the evidence behind them, and develop more balanced and compassionate ways of seeing yourself.

💭 Instead of: “I always fail.”
Try asking: “Is ‘always’ really true? What evidence do I have?”
Small changes in the way we think can gradually change the way we feel — and the way we respond to ourselves.
You don’t have to believe every thought your mind gives you. ❤️

Buzzing to be back with the guys for a 6 week block of CBT group work! 🙌

Today we introduced the basic CBT model and explored how our thoughts, feelings and behaviours are all connected. 🔁

Everyone completed their own Five Factor Model, which led to some powerful sharing and plenty of 💡 lightbulb moments as people began to make sense of their experiences and situations.

Already looking forward to Week 2! 👊
