We have been fortunate to enjoy some lovely weather recently and residents have certainly made the most of it. Sunny afternoons have been spent outdoors enjoying ice cream, ice lollies, cold drinks and plenty of fresh air.

Residents, relatives and staff have enjoyed sitting together in the sunshine, listening to music and simply appreciating the beautiful weather. We are all hoping for many more days like these as we move into summer.

We are delighted to have the children from Battery Park Nursery back for their weekly visits. The children enjoy joining residents for singalongs, games and conversations before relaxing together with soft drinks and snacks.

These intergenerational visits create wonderful opportunities for both residents and children to build meaningful connections and enjoy each other's company.

May was a particularly special month at Bagatelle as we came together to celebrate two important milestones. Staff enjoyed a well-deserved celebration following the fantastic news that Bagatelle once again achieved top grades of 5 ("Very Good") across all areas during our recent Care Inspectorate inspection. This achievement reflects the dedication, compassion and hard work shown by every member of our team each day.

The celebration also provided an opportunity to thank our Chief Executive, Andrea Wyllie, as she prepares to move on after almost a decade leading Greenock Medical Aid Society. During her time with the organisation, Andrea has guided Bagatelle through many challenges and achievements, including the Covid pandemic, major refurbishment projects, maintaining consistently high inspection grades, and helping secure funding for our new wheelchair-accessible minibus.

Residents, families and staff have all benefited from Andrea's commitment to high-quality care and her passion for supporting older people. We would like to thank Andrea for her years of service, leadership and dedication, and we wish her every success and happiness for the future. It was wonderful to come together as a team to celebrate her contribution and all that has been achieved during her time with us.

With the arrival of better weather, residents have been able to spend time outdoors enjoying the sunshine. Afternoons have been spent relaxing with ice cream and cold drinks, while listening to familiar music in the background.

These simple moments have been appreciated by both residents and visiting family members, and we look forward to making the most of more sunny days in the weeks ahead.

Easter was a special time in the home, with residents creating a variety of colourful and creative bonnets. Each one showed a great deal of effort and was worn with pride. The Easter Bunny also made a visit, spending time with residents in both lounges and individual rooms to ensure no one missed out. Easter eggs were handed out, and the day brought plenty of smiles across the home.
