We are delighted to be able to reveal the latest completed work in the ongoing initiative.

It has been a privilege to have been able to invite nationally renowned artist 'Woskerski' to the local area and a pleasure to have worked with such a professional, talented, polite and friendly person.

We are confident that such an incredible piece of artwork will draw a great deal of positive attention to the area, be a tourist landmark in itself, and act as a beacon of inspiration for creatives both across the area and on a national level.

We are committed to promoting and supporting local creative talent on an ongoing basis and are happy to say that the vast majority of our upcoming planned murals across North East Lincolnshire will be led by local artists with engagement from a range of community groups.

We are grateful to everyone who continues to support the project, and for this mural, we want
to give special thanks to , Ltd

Ian tells his story to the camera this evening

What a natural talker this fella is. There is nothing quite as honest & hard hitting as someone in recovery telling their story, without leaving stuff out.

Thanks Ian and Archie for filming. Looking forward to seeing the completed film.

Graham is a retired Grimsby Trawlerman born in 1943. When I first met him at our place on the docks I gave him a tour of the building, which was once Consolidated Fisheries & still has the strong room where they kept wages for the Trawlerman.

After entering one of the rooms, he stopped, looked up at an old photo on the wall & immediately got emotional. I asked him if he was OK & looking up at the photo he said "That's my Mum!"

He had never seen the photo before of the net braiders who worked on the Docks. It was a photo we had been given to work from, for a collection of artworks celebrating the role that women played in the history of Grimsby Docks.

Last week, the artwork was completed, painted by female members in recovery at The Comeback & it completes the set of 4 artworks. The other 3 painted by artist Kevin Atkins & commissioned by Great Grimsby Ice Factory Trust for the Petersons Smokehouse project.

Today, we had the opportunity to show Graham the finished artwork. His Mum Marion is the lady on the right.

I'll never forget Graham recognising his Mum in that photo & the emotion he showed. Every photo, every painting & everyone has a story to tell. When all is said & done, it's these moments in time, when we feel something, that stay with us.
