What if anger isn’t the problem?

When we feel angry, we often focus on the anger itself, but underneath, there may be hurt, fear, or needs that aren’t being heard.
Anger isn’t always something to “fix”, sometimes it’s a signal that something important is going on beneath the surface.

Here, one of our therapists Karl, explores anger and what it could be trying to tell us and how meeting it with compassion can help us develop a healthy relationship with anger.

What is your anger trying to tell you?

We’re excited to share that Cudox will be attending the BIG SEND Event hosted by SENDIASS at Grimsby Town Hall on Thursday 16 July 2026, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. 🎉

This important drop-in event is a fantastic opportunity for parents, carers, and young people to access information and support around Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across education, health, and social care. 💙

At Cudox, we are passionate about shaping accessible, inclusive services for everyone and working alongside families and professionals to make a real difference. 🤝✨

We look forward to connecting with the community, sharing ideas, and supporting the conversation around better access for all. 🌟

🎉 HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY TO US! 🎂

Wow, can you believe it? Cudox is 6! 🎈✨

Six years ago, we started with a simple mission to make counselling and therapy accessible to everyone in our community, no matter their situation 💙

We're so proud to have supported countless children, young people, adults, couples and families across North East Lincolnshire with high-quality, compassionate mental health support 🌟

🧁 What we've been up to for 6 years:
✨ Individual counselling for adults & children
✨ Group therapy sessions
✨ Workplace therapy
✨ Online sessions for those who need them
✨ Community projects like Outside In (keep fit + improve mental health!) 💪🧘

As a not-for-profit CIC, every penny we earn goes straight back into supporting our local community - that's the Cudox difference! 🎁💚

A HUGE thank you to:
🙏 Our amazing clients who trust us
🙏 Our brilliant counsellors & therapy team
🙏 Our wonderful funding partners

🙏 Our supporters, volunteers & community friends
🙏 YOU for being part of our journey!

Here's to 6 fantastic years of healing, hope, and community - and to MANY more years of making sure nobody faces mental health challenges alone 💙🤗

This Volunteers’ Week, we’re celebrating the power of community at Cudox 💛

Our qualified and student therapists give their time, care, and compassion to support people who may otherwise struggle to access therapeutic services. Because of them, more individuals in our community can find a safe space, feel heard, and begin to heal.

Community is at the heart of everything we do, and our volunteers are a vital part of making that possible 🌱

To every one of our volunteers - thank you. Your kindness and dedication truly change lives 💬

Language matters 🌿

Sometimes a small shift can open the door to a gentler way of understanding ourselves. Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with me?” we can ask, “What happened to me?” 💛

That change doesn’t excuse harm, but it does help us move away from self-blame and toward compassion. Many of our earliest relationships shape us deeply, and even when harm wasn’t intentional, it can still have a lasting impact.

Generational trauma is real 🕊️ Patterns, wounds, and coping strategies can be passed down through families and across time. Recognising that truth can help us make sense of our experiences without judging ourselves for them.

Healing often begins with language. And language can be a gentle place to start ✨

Men’s mental health matters. Too many men feel they have to stay quiet and carry it all alone, but support is here when you need it. At Cudox Wellbeing CIC, we have male therapists available and offer walk-and-talk sessions if sitting in a therapy room feels less natural.

Reaching out is a strong step. 💙
