Employment law is changing – is your business ready?

One of the biggest proposed changes to UK employment law is the reduction in the qualifying period for unfair dismissal rights from two years to six months' service.

For many small businesses, this means you'll have far less time to assess whether a new employee is the right fit and, if they're not, ensure you've followed a fair process.

Now is the time to ask yourself:

Are your probation reviews structured?
Are managers documenting performance concerns?
Are your contracts and policies up to date?
Would you be confident defending your decisions if challenged?

Waiting until the law changes could leave your business exposed. Preparing now will put you in a much stronger position when the new rules come into force.
