We’ve just found out that Prohas has been selected as one of only three finalists in the A Team category at the Great Big Small Awards. 💙

And it got me thinking… what actually makes a great team?

For me, it definitely isn’t about everyone agreeing all the time or getting everything right.

We challenge each other. We question things. We push each other to be better. Sometimes someone will come up with an idea that’s better than mine and that’s exactly how it should be.

We make mistakes, we learn from them and we move on.

There’s plenty of banter and plenty of taking the mickey out of each other all HR approved, obviously. 😂

But there’s also a group of people who genuinely care about what we’re building.

They pick up the phone when a client needs help. They jump in when someone else needs support. They take responsibility and, when things get busy, everyone pulls in the same direction.

And the Prohas team hasn’t just been shaped by the people here today.

Over the years, different people have been part of our journey. Some have moved on to do other things, but every one of them has played a part, taught us something and helped shape the business and team we have today.

As the business grows, I’m obviously proud of the clients we’ve won and the services we’ve developed.

But I’m probably most proud of the team we’ve built and the team we’re continuing to build.

We’re still growing, still learning and still challenging each other to make Prohas better.

So, whether we win or not, being recognised as an A Team feels pretty special.

And a massive, good luck to the other finalists who have also been shortlisted. Getting down to the final three is an achievement in itself.

Now we just need to see what happens on the night… 🤞💙

First Aid Training Isn't About Getting a Certificate

We see it a lot — a first aider's certificate on the wall, up to date, everything present and correct. But ask that person what they'd actually do if someone collapsed in front of them right now, and sometimes the confidence just isn't there.

Good first aid training is about confidence, not just knowledge — recent enough to be fresh, and practised, not just watched.
