Goal setting ✨

One thing that keeps my motivation up is by creating small achievable goals I reckon I could hit within 2-4 weeks.

But setting smaller goals which are more realistic, the more likely you are to achieve these and therefore increase your motivation and relationship with the gym.

This week I have set myself a couple of goals for the next few weeks which I’m hoping I can achieve in a month.

1. 90-100kg hip thrust
2. 200kg on leg press

Monday legs-

Today was a heavy session. As much as it doesn’t look like much, my legs were shaking.

As I train legs 2x a week I sometimes mix it up to focus on compound movements and completing them with heavier reps etc in comparison to another leg session where I do more exercises with higher volume.

- 6x front squats SS 12x back squats
- barbell reverse lunges with added weight 20x3
- loaded leg press increasing weight x4 sets
- long period of stretching and foam rolling

I was quite happy first session back with the weights I was achieving. Managed 120kg on the loaded leg press which was my first time using that machine in comparison to the normal horizontal leg press. Aim is to hit 150kg in the next few weeks 🤌🏽

Previous progress ✨

So a year ago, during lockdown, I really managed to focus on exercising and becoming more healthy.

When I was at uni, I put on a lot of weight… which don’t get me wrong, was fun at the time when I was partying and boozing all the time. However, it caused me to suffer mentally and physically as I was very unhappy with my body.

So I used lockdown to get shed the pounds and gain confidence and happiness again.

2022 is going to be a year to refine my body and get me into the most healthiest mindset and find consistency with in my training to maintain a body I feel comfortable in.

I have set myself some personal goals, which hopefully will help me stick to a healthy lifestyle.
