A family-run nursing home for over 90 years, the ethos within Birtley House is on the care of the whole person including their social, holistic, and general wellbeing needs, not just their medical needs. The Whalley family are dedicated to providing the highest levels of care and quality of life for all our residents. Birtley House offers full nursing care, respite care, rehabilitation and end-of-
life care services. For those who are not ready for care but would benefit from daily support to live independently, we have supported living flats on-site (Birtley Mews), which are spacious and have exceptional views out to the countryside. Caring for the whole person is a vital part of the ethos of life at Birtley House: we have active links with the local community, an imaginative activities programme, and a supportive pastoral team comprising a chaplain, counsellor, companions, and wellbeing mentors
