Today we remember Paul Wright, a much-loved man who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pat, who passed away peacefully in hospital on 27th July, aged 88 years.

His funeral service will take place at 12 noon on Wednesday 12th August at Kirkleatham Memorial Park, Redcar.

🌒 A moment of light, shadow and remembrance

Tomorrow, Wednesday 12th August, the skies above Redcar & Cleveland will bring us a spectacular solar eclipse.
The Moon will pass between the Earth and the Sun, briefly covering much of the Sun and creating a remarkable meeting of light and shadow.
The last solar eclipse visible from the UK was on 29th March 2025. Tomorrow’s eclipse will be another memorable celestial event, and one that gives us a wonderful opportunity to pause and look upwards.

✨ But what does an eclipse signify?
Scientifically, an eclipse is a fascinating alignment of the Sun, Moon and Earth.
Throughout history, eclipses have also been associated with change, transition, reflection and renewal.
For those who are remembering someone special, the meeting of light and darkness can feel like a fitting reminder that, although someone may no longer be physically beside us, the light they brought into our lives can remain.

As you look up at the sky tomorrow, perhaps it will also give you a moment to pause and remember someone special, someone whose light continues to be part of your life through the memories you carry.
