💻 Staring at a screen all day? Your eyes might be feeling it.

Tired eyes? Dryness? Headaches? That end-of-day feeling that your eyes have simply had enough?

You’re not alone. 👀

Try these simple habits to give your eyes a little break:

👀 20-20-20 rule
Every 20 minutes, look at something around 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

💧 Remember to blink
We tend to blink less when concentrating on screens, which can leave your eyes feeling dry and uncomfortable.

🖥️ Check your screen position
Keep your monitor around an arm’s length away and slightly below eye level.

✨ Reduce glare
Adjust your screen brightness and try to minimise reflections from windows and overhead lighting.

🌙 Try night mode in the evening
It can make your screen more comfortable to look at, particularly in lower-light conditions.

👓 And if your eyes are still struggling…
The right lenses and coatings may help make screen use more comfortable. We offer a range of lens options designed around different visual needs, including prolonged screen use.

Save this post for your next screen-heavy day 📌

And if your eyes are regularly feeling tired, dry or strained, pop in and speak to us — we can check your eyes and talk through the options that could suit you.

Autumn calls for a colour refresh, and eyewear is no exception.

Think warm tortoiseshell, deep amber, burgundy and orange tones, the kind of colours that feel right at home with cosy knits and shorter days. 🍂

Did you know what's on your plate can play a part in supporting your eye health?

Here are some foods worth adding to your shopping list:

🥕 Carrots - contain beta-carotene, which your body converts into vitamin A
🥬 Leafy greens like spinach and kale - rich in lutein, which is found naturally in the eye
🐟 Oily fish such as salmon and mackerel - a good source of omega-3
🥚 Eggs - contain lutein and zinc
🍊 Citrus fruits - packed with vitamin C

Small changes to your plate, big support for your eyes.

Photochromic or 'light-adaptive' lenses are designed for busy lifestyles. They adapt seamlessly to changing light, giving you comfort and clarity all day.

• Clear indoors, darken in sunlight automatically
• Light-sensitive molecules react to UV exposure
• Return to clear as UV levels drop

The result? Effortless vision without switching between glasses and sunglasses.

Experience photochromic lenses for yourself in-practice.

Ever find yourself holding your phone, a menu, or the newspaper a little further away than you used to?

That could be presbyopia, a completely normal part of ageing where the lens in your eye gradually loses flexibility. This makes it harder to focus on things up close, and it usually becomes noticeable from your early-to-mid 40s onwards.

It's just your eyes changing over time, as everything else does. If close-up tasks are becoming more difficult, it could be a good time to book an eye exam.

Long days in front of screens can leave your eyes dry, tired, and strained. But don't worry - a quick reset can make all the difference.

Take just 20 seconds to:

• Gently close your eyes and relax facial tension
• Massage around the eye area to boost circulation
• Blink slowly to rehydrate and refresh

It’s a small pause with big benefits, helping your eyes feel more comfortable and ready to go again.
