We offer an extensive ‘Wellbeing’ programme of activity, entertainment and events – our residents can get the most out of every day. Quizzes, discussions, music, exercise, gardening, garden parties and excursions…there is much to enjoy! We welcome visits from family, friends and the many members of our wider community – no need to book. Just come on in, the kettle’s always on! Offering many different and welcoming spaces, including our café, lounges, hair salon and extensive gardens in a rural setting, our community offers the perfect blend of independent living with 24-hour support. Perhaps an ideal way to transition into care for some, or a comfortable and dedicated nursing home for others, Hailsham House offers a ‘home’ for all.

At Anavo, we've launched 'Anavo Pen Pals', a simple initiative connecting residents across our homes through handwritten letters.

Our first pairing between Hailsham House and Surbitonian Gardens has already seen residents sharing stories, memories and everyday moments, while building friendships with people they may never otherwise have met.

Supported by our Activities Teams, residents enjoy every step of the experience, from writing their letters to the excitement of receiving a reply.

This initiative is all about creating meaningful connections, encouraging conversation and reminding residents they're part of a wider Anavo community.

⚽🏆 The excitement is building at Hailsham House as we count down to tonight's World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina!

Our staff have been proudly showing their support for their chosen teams, and the home has been buzzing with friendly debates and predictions about the final score.

One of our residents, Bryan, confidently declared:
"It will be an England win tonight!" 🦁

From everyone here at Hailsham House, we'd like to send a special message to Thomas Tuchel, Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and the entire England squad:

"Come on, lads – bring it home! You've got this, and we'll all be cheering you on!" ❤️🤍

💌 Last week, our residents enjoyed writing replies to their pen pals at Surbitonian Gardens, our sister home in Surbiton, London.

Our Pen Pals project is a wonderful way to make new friends, build meaningful connections, and share stories about our lives and local communities. It's always exciting for our residents to learn about an area they may never have visited before, while giving others a glimpse into life here too.

We can't wait to receive the next letters! ✉️💙

What a lovely day out! 🌞

Some of our residents enjoyed a trip to Sovereign Harbour the other day, where they relaxed with cappuccinos and refreshing soft drinks while taking in the beautiful marina views. ☕🥤

They also had an extra special surprise when they spotted a magnificent Spanish galleon ship docked in the harbour, a truly memorable sight! ⚓⛵

Days like these are all about making wonderful memories together. 💙

🌟 Another fantastic achievement for our amazing Kitchen Team! 🌟

Yesterday, our kitchen had an inspection from Environmental Health, and we're delighted to share that we've been awarded a 5-Star Food Hygiene Rating once again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A huge well done to our hardworking kitchen staff for their continued dedication, commitment, and high standards. We're so proud of everything they do to ensure our residents enjoy delicious meals prepared in a safe and hygienic environment. 👏🍽️

👑 A Wonderful Celebration of the King's Birthday 👑

We're taking a moment to look back on last Saturday's special King's Birthday Tea Party, which brought together our residents, their families, friends, and loved ones for a truly memorable afternoon.

Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet-style afternoon tea, wonderful live music from Jason Lines Actor/Model/Vocalist, and the excitement of our raffle, where many lucky winners took home fantastic prizes.
Our Queen's Court Mocktail Bar was also a great success, serving a selection of refreshing handmade fruity mocktails for everyone to enjoy.

The sunshine made the day even more special, but it was the smiles on everyone's faces that truly lit up the occasion.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a wonderful success. We hope you enjoy looking back at some of the lovely moments we captured. 📸❤️

Last week was Carer’s Week, and here at Hailsham House we celebrated in style! 🎉

There was plenty of laughter, delicious pizza, and a beautiful personalised cake to make the occasion extra special.

Our wonderful residents also created handmade cards, each with heartfelt messages, to say a big thank you to our amazing carers. 💖

From all the management team and staff, we want to say:
“Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to our residents. You are truly appreciated and an inspiration to us all.” ✨

🌱 Our First Harvest of 2026! 🌱

Our residents popped out to check the vegetable beds the other day and were overjoyed to discover that our radishes, which we only sown last month were ready to pick! 🥕✨

With the hot weather we had last week followed by the rain this week, we’re hoping this is just the beginning and that plenty more vegetables will soon be ready for harvest!🌦️🌿

✨ What a way to round off May! ✨

Our residents’ pub, The Last Chance Saloon, was officially open 🍻 and let’s just say… the drinks were flowing almost as much as the laughter! 😄

Residents, loved ones, and families all came together for an afternoon of fun, enjoying fantastic live entertainment from Jane Jenkinson 🎤 while sipping on their favourite tipple. Whether that was a glass of wine 🍷, a cold beer 🍺, or a classic cola 🥤

There were plenty of smiles, singalongs, and a few “just one more song!” moments… and we can’t forget the fabulous fashion choices! ❤️ From love heart headbands to stylish sunglasses, everyone truly saw the end of May off in style 😎

It was truly an afternoon full of joy, laughter, and great company the perfect way to celebrate together!
