📣 Little update to our Meal Out plans! 🍽️
Our trip to the Prospect Inn has now been moved from Friday 22nd May to Friday 29th May ✨
After chatting with everyone, more people were interested in attending at the end of the month — especially after this week’s lovely (but slightly more expensive 😄) trip out.
We wanted to make sure as many people as possible had the chance to join us in a way that feels a little more affordable and comfortable 💙

At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to providing the highest quality care and support 💙

That’s why we’re proud to invest in our team by using Care Skills Academy for staff training. This ensures our team stays fully compliant, continuously develops their skills, and keeps their CPD up to date.

By prioritising learning and professional growth, we can deliver the very best support to both our service users and our staff—because great care starts with a well-trained, confident team.

As part of our travel training at Step by Step, we regularly teach our service users to use public transport safely and confidently.
To help keep the cost of these trips as low as possible, we are asking parents and carers to apply for a Disabled Persons Railcard for their young person.

This railcard gives:
- 1/3 off rail fares for the cardholder
- 1/3 off for a companion travelling with them

This makes a big difference to the overall cost of our travel training days and helps us offer more opportunities.

What you need to do:

1. Apply for a Disabled Persons Railcard online
2. Provide the required evidence (details are listed on the application)
3. Once received, please let us know so we can use it when booking travel

You can apply here:
https://www.disabledpersons-railcard.co.uk/

If you need any support with the application or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — we’re happy to help.
Thank you for your support in helping us make travel training more accessible and affordable.
