Fabulous night at Darkness into Light Ball supporting Chris's House ✨The work they do holds a special place in my 💛
Although I’m now qualified, I still volunteer there once a week because I believe in the work they do saving life’s for those with suicidal ideation, including supporting their family and friends who are also impacted by the trauma of su***de!

Recently we tragically had a bereavement in the family caused by su***de. But my passion for prevention of su***de goes way back to a time when I was only 13yrs.

As a teenager I struggled in school, always felt like I didn’t belong, was subjected to nasty bullying and just wanted the pain to end.

That’s when I decided to put a plan in place to end my life. This even included what I would eat for my last meal!

Luckily my sister came home early to find me in time and I was rushed to the hospital.

I always remember the first thing my mum said to me when I woke up groggy & confused.

I know you didn’t mean it, but tell the doctors it was a mistake or else they’ll take you away.

So I said nothing and the pain, shame, guilt ate away at me!

Eventually I was accepted into the spa industry with open arms which gave me the opportunity to continue my love of travel. 💛 Roll on 20+ yrs and I got into life coaching after being introduced to a spiritual group in Cyprus. Officially my journey of healing began! But I won’t bore you with all the lessons learned, all I’ll say is this . .

We need to get more comfortable talking about su***de, & not be afraid to ask the right questions!

What if my sister hadn’t come home early that day !?! I could have been another statistic! Unfortunately back then there wasn’t a place like Chris’s House where I or my family could go to for support!

So, look out for the signs, Be brave! It’s ok to ask someone if they have a plan. And if you don’t know what to say, then it’s simple, just listen with NO judgement! BE KIND ALWAYS! 💛

Newsflash ⚡️PAUSE❗️A word I’ve grown to like! Because, that’s exactly what I’m doing with my business.

As you know, I’ve been studying to be a counsellor which has been intense at times. It’s been a journey of juggling grief, personal growth, essay writing, and working with placement clients alongside running a business.

But I’m excited to share with you all, that I now have a new full time job working for a children’s charity.

Although studies have finished, I’m still working with a case load of placement clients who ethnically I can’t just dump.

This means I have had to make the difficult decision to PAUSE the business for now 😢

In all honestly, it’s bitter sweet! After 23yrs of being a holistic therapist, I genuinely struggle to imagine not doing this role, but my soul is being pulled in another direction and I’m following a new passion.

I’m not ready yet to say I’m letting go, it’s too painful. It’s safer and more comfortable for now to say, I’m simply putting a PAUSE on running this little business, that has brought so much joy into my life 😢❤️

I know I’ll always teach reiki, in fact I’m teaching masters over the weekend, but for the time being my diary is now closed for booking holistic therapy treatments after the 22nd of August

It’s a mix of sadness and excitement, but I want to say THANK YOU!

Thank you for being a part of this journey, through a pandemic, the good and the bad, through the tears and the joy, through the laughter and the pain. There wouldn’t have been a business without you guys!

Thank you for your patience and kindness as I struggled to get over my fear of doing videos and lives in the early days 😂🙈

I’ll always be deeply grateful to each and every one of you for your support, loyalty and trust.

To those of you who have booked for holistic therapies, came to any of my events, or completed life coaching with me over the yrs, it truly has been an honour and a privilege to get to know you.

After 2 yrs of full time study to become a counsellor, I finally put away my lap top & theory books and focused on having fun.
So far the summer has been filled with lazy beach days in Spain, Scottish rd trips and lots of laughter.
As business calms down for the summer, my focus will be on relaxation, odd chores around the house and contemplating my next business adventure!
Fresh changes are on the way as I prepare once again to step outside the comfort zone. Stay tuned to hear what’s next ❤️Laura x

Yesterday was happy international yoga day! These days my yoga styles are very different! Back in the day I was a power Vinyassa kinda gal, these days due to injuries, menopause, studies and just life in general, plus having a mad cat, I’m more a yin lover!
Never thought I’d say that ever! But my body now needs stretching, my mind needs presence and YIN gives me the perfect opportunity to slow down, breathe, pause and regulate my nervous system ❤️
I’m curious to know has your practice changed over the years?
Nothing rarely stays the same! But my love of yoga will always remain even if my approach is different ❤️

⚠️Let’s talk Suicide❗️
Different start to the week with ASSIST training at Strathclyde Uni ran by the fabulous Lynda & Paula all thanks to my placement pals .house for organising ❤️
Who knew su***de verbal first aid training could be so much fun!!!

On a serious note though, I genuinely believe EVERYONE should have this training!

After all su***de impacts a huge range of people in the community, from the person struggling with mental health, to the carers responding to it on a daily basis and the families affected by loss and grief!

For some, this is no joking matter!

So just think how many life’s could be saved if more people had the awareness, knowledge and skills to follow this clear, simple, and effective safeguarding protocal . . .

We need to stop shying away from discussing mental health and get more comfortable talking about it! Don’t you think?

I’m curious to know . . Can you spot the signs of suicidal ideation? Do you know what to say to someone who is struggling? How would you behave in a scenario where someone tells you they are thinking about ending their life?

Would you feel awkward???
Probably I guess . . . an that’s normal!

To be honest, prior to working at Chris’s House and taking part in this training, I wasn’t sure either!

I might not have all the answers, but I feel better equipped to deal with it now thanks to this ASSIST training ❤️

And just like that we say goodbye . .
It’s not the end though, just a new beginning (Reynolds, 2026)

Today the last day of college was a truly emotional one!

These past 2yrs have been filled with brutal truths, deep reflections and stressful essays!

We have all been on an intense journey, riding emotional rollercoasters, and getting to know ourselves at deeper levels! Studying to be a counsellor certainly isn’t the same as studying other academic subjects, that’s for sure!

So thank you from the bottom of my squishy heart, for giving me the space to be vulnerable and express my spicy self!

Onwards and upwards! Who knows what the future holds, but I’m prepped now for just about anything life can through my way!

❣️Therapy Changes Everything❣️

You probably already know that I’ve been studying to be a counsellor for the past couple of years. That’s the reason for my social media absence!

Plus, amongst all the chaos of student life I moved into a new home. My dream home, I have to add, the perfect one that took a few yrs to manifest using all my LOA powers. And . . to add to the mix, I got a chunky, gorgeous, super affectionate rescue cat from Dubai who is my soulmate!

I’m sharing because I want to highlight the positive parts of studying counselling & being in therapy.

Yes it’s been a tough ride at times. I’ve had to face my fears and get comfortable being vulnerable. There have been many tears!

But I’ve learned a lot about myself in the process. I’ve grown as a person, gotten clear about what I actually want AND I’ve let go of those who weren’t in alignment with my values.

❣️Change isn’t easy, but it’s rewarding!

On that note, more change is coming soon to my business as I’m almost qualified. But before I share any details, first check out my new therapy room.

When I moved in it had green carpets, mustard curtains, mahogany cupboards & weird lights.

I hope you like it! This is a space where REAL POWERFUL CHANGE HAPPENS!

A new stage of your life is unfolding! It’s painful, uncomfortable, unsettling and worrying . . .

BUT this shift has potential for extreme growth, even although it feels s**t!

Below are 3 signs to look out for

✨You are drifting away from friendships/relationships that you recognise have a toxic twist. What once might have felt like partners in crime, besties, or other half’s, now feels weird, stagnant and gives you the ick making you feel lonely as hell!

✨ You used to be the life and soul of the party, but now you feel drained in company and you’d rather spend time on your own in nature connecting to your soul & doing the inner work you once avoided.

✨ You are spending more time reflecting and questioning the TRUTH. Examining your beliefs and the beliefs of those around you. The goals you had originally set no longer excite you and you feel a physical, emotional & mental shift within you.

YOU ARE NOT FALLING APART, YOU ARE AWAKENING!

Awakening to the potential of growth, possibilities, and future opportunities.

You are lining yourself up spiritually to attract what is truly meant for you.

This journey, coming home to your authentic self is not easy. Some around you won’t like it, change isn’t easy, growth isn’t simple, and the process will test your patience to the limit!

But hang on in there, don’t give up, because the rewards will be worth it ❣️You were born for more, made not to join the herd, and designed to challenge your core ❣️

With all the dramaramma coming to light around the wellness industry, grounding is essential to ensure you don’t get sucked into the negativity. Mother Nature is the BEST healing medicine in the world! Unfortunately there is heaps of drama going around right now! Don’t you think? It kinda puts me off coming online 😢

The sad truth is, none of it surprises me! When you know, you know . .

I have seen STUFF in the luxury spa industry that would leave you open mouthed and shocked beyond belief.

For some folk . . . Extreme WEALTH = POWER = ego battles = ABUSE

Sadly there are those who abuse their power and use it to take advantage of vulnerable individuals

I’ve seen it, experienced it and the worst thing . .

The innocents involved were gaslit, threatened and blocked from speaking their truth, whilst being made out to be crazy trouble makers!

So finally the world is wakening up, people are being called out and hopefully, we pray those who are guilty this abuse of power will be made accountable for their actions!

However, still we see soooooo many people who are scared to speak out. The consequences of having an opinion are too risky, and their own fame and careers more important than justice!

Come on wellness legends, surely you can do better than this!

Clear your conscience and do the right thing! We are waiting!

In the meantime, we’ll protect our peace, stay grounded & remain patient. The truth always finds a way 💜
