Stay cool this week Hearties, another hot week ahead!

Remember your blood pressure may be lower in the heat, and heart rate higher as your body works hard to stay cool.

You’ll need to stay more hydrated than usual so add an extra cup or two of water to your usual intake.

Avoid strenuous exercise in the heat. The ideal temperature to exercise in with a heart condition is 16-20 degrees which is unlikely to happen this week! Anything over 25 degrees in the room you are exercising in can put you at risk of heat exhaustion. Lower the intensity, take extra breaks, use a wet towel to keep you cool and be sensible this week!

See your doctor if you have any concerns or if you feel unwell.

Reduce your exercise whilst it’s this hot and stay cool before, during and after!
