Three Ashberry Healthcare homes have raised over £2,350 and built lasting community partnerships through 2026's Charity of the Year initiative. Holmer Court, Broomy Hill and The Weir each chose a local charity to support - The Royal British Legion, Herefordshire Mind and We Are Farming Minds - creating opportunities for residents to get involved in causes that matter to them, from sponsored walks to community art groups and countryside gatherings.

Last Friday was a special day at The Weir Nursing Home as we brought residents, families and staff together to celebrate our wonderful team and recognise the dedication they show every day. 🎉❤️

It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying the occasion as we celebrated our staff members and recognised long-service achievements ranging from 3 years through to an amazing 5+ years.

A big well done to our award winners: Dawn, Zoya, Chloe and Beth – Core Values; Neethu K – Employee of the Year; Joseph W – Wellbeing; and Alice G – Dementia Awareness.

This year we also introduced our new Above & Beyond Award, chosen by our residents, with Megan B being the very first recipient!

We were pleased to welcome Sam from We Are Farming Minds, our Charity of the Year, who spoke to us about the fantastic work they do before receiving a donation from Ashberry.

A fantastic afternoon celebrating our team and everything they do for our residents. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special!

Today is International Day of Charity, and we’re celebrating the wonderful work happening across Ashberry Healthcare!

Since January, our homes have been working alongside their chosen charities, bringing residents, families, staff and local communities together to support causes that matter.

Thursday was a wonderful day at Holmer Court as residents, families and staff came together to celebrate our Staff Awards and the amazing people who make our home what it is 🎉

It was lovely to see everyone getting involved and sharing in the celebrations as we recognised long-service milestones from 3 years through to an incredible 25+ years.

A huge congratulations to our award winners: Sneha M J - Core Values, Sarah Q - Employee of the Year, Ojoma I - Wellbeing, and Jeny C - Dementia Awareness.

We also introduced our brand-new Above & Beyond Award, chosen by our residents, with Kooky becoming the very first recipient!

We also had a lovely surprise for Home Manager Claire, as the team presented her with a special award: a booklet filled with heartfelt testimonials and messages of appreciation. 💐

We were also delighted to welcome the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, our Charity of the Year, who shared more about their work before receiving a donation from the home.

A fantastic day filled with celebration, appreciation and plenty of smiles - thank you to the whole of Holmer Court for everything they do!

Broomy Hill came together on Wednesday for our Staff Awards, and what a day it was. Residents, staff and families gathered to celebrate the people who make this home what it is, marking long-service milestones from 3 years right through to an incredible 15 🎉😊

Congratulations to our winners: Ewa J P (Core Values), Elina N (Employee of the Year), Magdalena W (Wellbeing) and Regan B (Dementia Awareness). This year also saw the launch of a brand new award, Above and Beyond, chosen by residents themselves. Eniolamide A was the very first to receive it.

The Broomy team went a step further, creating their own award to recognise Home Manager Julie for everything she does. Gemma presented it, and it was a genuinely heartfelt moment for the whole home.

We were also pleased to welcome Alicia Potter from Herefordshire Mind, our Charity of the Year, who shared more about their work before we presented them with a donation. We're looking forward to continuing that partnership.

To the Broomy Hill team: thank you for your dedication, care and heart; it shows in everything you do.

We're delighted to welcome Steve Morton to Moorhouse Care Home as our new Home Manager!

Steve brings over 30 years' leadership experience across hospitality and health and social care, including senior roles in residential, nursing and dementia care. He is a qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer and registered Dementia Care Mapper, with a real passion for helping residents maintain strength, confidence and independence.

Steve is looking forward to getting to know our residents, families and team as he settles into his new role.

We're so pleased to have Steve as part of the Ashberry Healthcare team and look forward to working with him 😊

On Friday 21st August, Holmer Court Care Home came together for a sponsored walk in support of The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Our goal was 100 laps of the garden and £250 in donations. Our residents completed an amazing 135 laps, with families, friends and staff joining them to add another 350 laps. We’ve also raised an incredible £593 for the Charity.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, donated or helped make the day so special. We’re incredibly proud of everyone who took part 🏅☺️

We had a wonderful time at our Summer Fayre at Allt Y Mynyddd on Saturday!
We enjoyed some lovely live music from our wonderful new singer and had plenty of fun throughout the afternoon. Jess even took a turn in the stocks, while our teddy George was won by a very lucky baby! ❤️

We're delighted to share that Broomy Hill Nursing Home has been named a finalist for the Hereford Times Community Awards in the Mental Health Award category - for the second year running!

This award recognises individuals or teams who specialise in mental health care, helping to improve the lives of residents and their families.

Being selected as a finalist again is a fantastic reflection of the consistent dedication, compassion and hard work our team brings every single day. From meaningful conversations to tailored support, they go above and beyond to ensure our residents' mental wellbeing is always a priority.

A huge congratulations and thank you to every member of our team - this recognition is thoroughly deserved, once again. You truly make Broomy Hill a special place.
