Did you know that 1 in 4 adults struggle to stay hydrated?
Good hydration can be crucial for many reasons, particularly during these hot summer months. 🌞

Being well hydrated can also improve sleep quality, cognition and mood.
A few ways you can increase the amount you drink include:
πŸ’§ Making sure you drink during mealtimes
πŸ’§ Making drinking a social thing like β€œhaving a cup of tea”
πŸ’§ Eating food with high water content, like soups, ice cream, jellies and fruits like melon

πŸ”₯ The nominations are in for our July Carer of the Month!
Please email [email protected] by the 2nd of August with the name of the carer you would like to nominate from the list below.

🌟 Kristina C
Nominated by a client's dad for providing exceptional support to both the client and his family during a very difficult period. Kristina has been flexible with visit times to meet the family’s needs, ensuring the client received excellent care and giving his family reassurance and support when they needed it most. Kristina was also nominated by another family member for the outstanding care and support she provided to a client on a weekend, highlighting her professionalism and excellent standard of care.

🌟 Gillian
Nominated for consistently going above and beyond her role without expecting recognition. Gillian has delivered prescriptions to the GP, dropped off samples, completed shopping for clients in her own time, and regularly visits clients on her days off to check they are safe and well, particularly when there have been concerns.

🌟 Lynn T
Nominated for her patience, understanding and calm approach when supporting clients with challenging behaviours. Lynn is skilled at de-escalating situations, shows genuine compassion, takes initiative to support clients beyond her task list where appropriate, and has even used her own lunch break to ensure clients receive the support they need. Lynn receives positive feedback from clients and families nearly every week. She was also nominated by a family member for the excellent care she provides to a client. Lynn is described as caring, professional and dedicated, taking her responsibilities seriously while maintaining appropriate boundaries. The family member expressed complete confidence and reassurance whenever Lynn is caring for this client.

🌟 Sarah L
Nominated for the outstanding compassion, professionalism and resilience she showed while supporting a client and her family during her final hours and after her passing. Sarah supported the District Nurse with washing and dressing, ensuring the client was treated with dignity and respect, while also providing emotional support to those around her.

🌟 Emma
Nominated for her exceptional support to a client and her family during an incredibly difficult time. Emma gave up time from her holiday to help arrange urgent GP attendance, collect prescriptions and provide compassionate support to the client’s husband and daughters following her passing, demonstrating professionalism and kindness throughout.

🌟 Sue C
Nominated by a client for always getting straight to work, providing fantastic care and consistently supporting them with whatever needs doing. She was also nominated for supporting a client on her days off with cleaning, packing and moving a client to her new home.

🌟 Charles
Nominated for the excellent support he provided over the weekend and for the professional way he managed a challenging situation alongside the coordinators during a double-up visit.

🌟 Ikodiya
Nominated for outstanding teamwork and professionalism. Despite her own car breaking down, she remained committed to ensuring all client visits were completed, arranging alternative transport so care was not disrupted.

🌟 Uloma
Nominated for exceptional teamwork after immediately coming to the assistance of a colleague whose car had broken down, driving both carers to their visits. Even after experiencing her own vehicle breakdown later in the day, she continued to ensure clients received their care, demonstrating dedication, resilience and a fantastic team spirit.

🌟 Requeline
Nominated by a client for consistently going above and beyond. Requeline supported this client through a difficult period of grief, accompanied her to the Everyman Cinema at York Outlet, encouraged and supported her throughout Race for Life training, and was there on the day of the event. The client expressed how much Requeline’s kindness, encouragement and support have meant and wanted her recognised for making such a positive difference.

It was wonderful to hear about the dedication, compassion and professionalism shown by our carers every day. Thank you for taking the time to send in your nominations. πŸ™
