Our crutches are silent with a squidgy neoprene grip which is removable and washable. The cuff is closed, but can be removed to have an open cuff. If you know, you KNOW 😂

The second you need both hands, your walking stick suddenly decides it would rather be on the floor.

Shopping. Paying. Opening doors. Looking through a clothes rail. Basically anything requiring more than one functioning hand 😅

It was one of those tiny everyday annoyances that drove me completely mad, until I discovered Stick Safe and it’s saved every day 👏

It hooks your stick onto pretty much any suitable edge, so instead of the inevitable CLATTER every time you let go, it stays exactly where you left it 🙌

Possibly one of the smallest things we sell and genuinely one of my favourites.

Apparently there were quite a few more than three… 👀

❤️ Using a mobility aid does NOT make you responsible for making everyone else comfortable with it.

❤️ You don’t have to make your disability easy to understand, convenient or consistent.

❤️ Your needs are allowed to change. You’re allowed to ask for more time, more space, a seat, a lift or a change of plan. And you do not have to prove why.

Honestly though, I would genuinely pay for every single one of these.

Twenty years ago, noone had made crutches I could use without pain or shame, so I built them myself. Not fun at the time, but pain is the best place to start a business from.

Question is, what have I missed? 👇

Using a mobility aid is often the most visible part, but it’s everything around it that people don’t see 🙃

👉 The planning

👉 The appointments

👉 The prescriptions

👉 The extra cost

👉 The pushing through

👉 The pretending you’re fine

👉 The recovery afterwards

So much of it becomes second nature that sometimes we don’t even realise how much we’re constantly managing.
