It’s been a (long) while since I’ve felt an urge to post and today I ran Despite injury, a rubbish cold, other stuff and consequently a total lack of prep, I ran, I smiled from ear to ear and I finished it!
My slowest ever half, but there’s been a lot going on and to even run today felt so special 🥰 Lovely Cardiff you were out in droves and I met some truly inspiring people on the route. Thank you and Liz Cox too for making this weekend happen and helping me believe in my self 🥰 .charity it was a privilege to chat on the Cardiff Bay Barrage and my gorgeous for the hug that meant the world 🥰 I couldn’t run without taking you along on the journey too ❤️

This was yesterday’s run…. Thanks to the slush and running with the lovely the time just flew (but my 4 layers remained firmly in place! 🥶 )
I’ve not posted for sometime now - But btw, I did complete my challenge of an event for every month in 2022 👊😊
As is the case at times, life got in the way and we all need to prioritise what we need to truly focus on 🥰
However, after much thought I’m posting this pic as my running has been a challenge this year, with the infamous cold after cold after cold bugs that have been rife this winter, followed by a hip issue.
Over 3 years ago I applied for a place to run half marathon, raising funds for Tommy’s charity. Since getting my place, I started working for Tommy’s on their midwife led helpline. This is one of the most fulfilling roles I have ever had the privilege to carry out. Every day we speak to women, birthing people and other family members who have received the utterly heartbreaking news about pregnancy loss and for so many we speak to, this has been recurrent. We offer a listening ear but also advice on the groundbreaking research Tommy’s is conducting to help prevent miscarriage and how and where to access this care. make the world of difference to so many, but they are a charity and rely on donations from the public.
My running has been thwart with problems this year, but I’m determined to run on 2nd April and hence why we were out yesterday!
If you can spare just a few £ and donate on my justgiving page, I and Tommy’s would be so so grateful to you. I want to really make my run count 😊
I was reminded today that big things come from small gestures… so please help if you feel able.

done ☑️ This iconic run has rolled over for two years after winning a ballot place for the 2020 run. Well obvs that one didn’t happen and then my GNR roomie was injured last year… so third time lucky 🍀 🎉🎉🎉
The epic drive was well worth it. I’d been told the atmosphere is amazing and it truly was! 🤩 The queen was fittingly included prior to the race start. There were people lining every bit of the 13.1 miles… sooo many high fives, so many runners for and (I had to cheer each one I saw!) and I can’t forget the Oggy oggy oggies!! Loved this super organised race with 60K competitors (despite an annoying stitch 😖) loved the weather (perfect temp, no rain or wind) loved Newcastle and all the kind people who helped us find our way back to our accommodation!
Thank you GNR ❤️ thank you Newcastle ❤️ The queen would have loved her tribute 😊

Queen Elizabeth II
May she rest in peace knowing she has touched so many through her life and been an utmost professional in her role - working and living her life to the very end. I ran this morning, listening to music. Reflecting on the passing of the queen, these lyrics resonated with me… ‘one day we will leave this world behind, so live a life you will remember…’ Avici Hers is a life well lived. Of course we don’t have the privileges and lifestyle of the queen, but we can all live our best life and make a difference.
A mantra I hope to live by ❤️

🎉🎉🎉 As a midwife and PT I have strived to help empower women to believe in their bodies, their mental strength and their capabilities for the past (almost) 30 years… Watching the England women’s football team win the Euros this evening I feel beyond proud… Proud of what they’ve achieved for themselves, women, equality and the next generation. I hope their teamwork and success will not only inspire but help instill self belief and empower young people. We can’t all win the Euros, but it’s a moment to remember to believe in our strengths and make the most of our opportunities and who we are 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ❤️👊

I thought I’d hold out for a heat wave for this one 🤣🤣 and no we are not on the beach! July’s run was run at but with soaring temperatures and an 11.00 start time, there were many discussions about how best to safely complete this one. Water ✔️ sunscreen ✔️ hat ✔️ post run salty crisps ✔️ and tactical switch to the 10k and we did it! It’s a fabulously flat course (6 metre elevation 🤣) but no shade, so it felt pretty brutal in the midday sun ☀️ However, with a steady pace, water stations every 2 k, our gorgeous running posse and lots of brilliant support from the event organisers we all got round 🎉🎉🎉🎉No PB but very happy to complete this one at all! 🥵😊Well done to all those who pushed on to do the half marathon today 👏👏👏

Taking advantage of the cooler temperatures this morning to go for a spin on my mountain bike for an hour. I love how a cycle can get you just that bit further from home when time is tight. Having a few clients recently with knee or hip issues, or wanting to avoid impact due to pelvic floor weakness, cycling can often be a great choice to regain strength and fitness. As well as getting outdoors too 😎 This view wows me every time 🤩

My first 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ and I loved it 😍Thank you to my lovely, postnatal client .challinor.harrison for introducing me to this - It’s something I’ve wanted to try out for a long time, but my first and only attempt, pre-covid was cancelled due to a flooded park!
It was super friendly, brilliantly organised and totally inclusive - adults of all ages and pace, kids running with parents, parents running with buggies and even a mama walking with a baby in a sling 👶 Everyone gets an official time and position for age and gender (who doesn’t love a few stats 😆) This was a lovely, flat course, amazing cheering marshals, totally free and pretty much done (and buzzing!) by 10 am! Everyone is welcome so what’s stopping you?! I totally recommend for anyone wanting to start running, get back into it or find a local running community. Up for it?
