Aw, this was a lovely review!

I have to say, it doesn't always go like this. Sometimes we have a much longer journey to pain-free feeding if there is an underlying issue that needs addressing.

But sometimes getting a better latch does work immediately, which is lovely!

The main thing is that as a parent you feel supported and that we try to find the root cause of the issue, whatever it is. Then we hopefully know what to do to help!

IBCLCs are basically feeding detectives.

Isn't it though? Breastfeeding is about far more than nutrition. It's a relationship. Its connection, calming, regulation and feeling safe. Its pain relief. And its a very effective waymto make them go to sleep!

This seems like a good post to end World Breastfeeding Week

Let's normalise kids needing us for a long time

Here my youngest was 3 years and 4 months old. This was pretty much the first time I got to drink a hot cup of coffee unless I was at work.

As a parent we will be HIGHLY NEEDED 24/7 for AT LEAST 3 years, and then slightly less needed after that. And then they get to the stage where they don't want to spend time with you at all (often around 13 and lasts for 2 or 3 years). Then they start enjoying your company again!

This is NORMAL

Share below the rare times you have managed to have 5 mins peace with small children.

My other trick was to sit on the loo, local the door an play Candy Crush for 5 mins haha. I just needed some mindless time out. But mostly there was still a "Muuuuuummmmm!"

You baby has a unique blend of sensory preferences.

This is why schedules, books and apps often do not work, especially for more sensitive babies.

What does your baby need that other babies don't seem to need?

I'll give you examples.

My highly sensitive baby would only settle if I span around or swayed very vigorously. He was a sensory seeker for movement.

I myself cannot cope with light touch. I'm a deep pressure only person.

One of my other kids still needs loud rain sounds to sleep as a teen.
