Anne and Ann, our retired colleague and her friend, have spent hours at the wee roundabout in Woodbank Cemetery, Armadale to have it looking as lovely as this 🌹💐🌺🌷🥀🪻🪷. Both ladies have loved ones interred in the cemetery and would like it to be as nice as possible for them, visitors and all those at rest in Woodbank. We think it looks great and thank the ladies for their hard work in brightening up the entrance ☀️

Jim attended NAFD Scotland’s Education Day on Saturday at East Lothian Crematorium. Here, he learned a bit more about the environmental benefits of alkaline hydrolysis, sometimes known as water cremation or resomation. Scotland is now the only country in the UK that has legalised this alternative to burial and flame cremation. Although still in the very early stages, we are keen to see this progress into something we can offer families in the future. Is this something you would consider? Jim caught up with our funeral plan supplier, Golden Charter’s CEO, Chris Wilson when he popped in for a visit on Friday. Brodies have worked closely with GC since 1990 and have a great relationship with them, always ensuring the best funeral planning options for our families. 🍂🍁🍂

And now to introduce another team member of the Brodies gang, little Aubrey 🎀 who completes Wilma & Jim’s grandchildren (for this year at least!). Seen here with big sister Darcy 🩷, big cousin Knox 🩵, mummy Rachel, Auntie Sarah, Granny and Grandad. We think a Brodies crèche is next on the cards!

It was a privilege representing the Funeral Directors and client’s loved ones, from whose reclaimed metals raised the charitable funds for this most worthy charity.

Today in partnership with Brodies Funeral Services Ltd we were proud to donate £500 to Nicola’s - Supporting Women in West Lothian from the funds raised through our metal recycling scheme.

Nicola's is a local charity which provides drop in sessions, walk and talk groups, support and community for women facing various challenges, set up in memory of Nicola Thyne. They provide invaluable support and resources for women's health, mental wellbeing and more. All of their events are free and funded by the charity which is incredible and we hope our donation can help them continue this.

Here are this years eggs delivered to a dozen of our local care homes for residents to enjoy. Our offices are closed tomorrow, Easter Monday, and reopen on Tuesday 7th April as normal. Funeral Directors available on call as always. We hope you all have fun this weekend and take care of yourselves 💛
