Looking forward to tomorrow’s solar eclipse? It’s set to peak in Hartlepool just after 7PM.
If you haven’t managed to get your hands on a pair of certified eclipse glasses, remember never to look directly at the Sun or rely on standard sunglasses - eclipse glasses are thousands of times darker.
Fortunately, you can view it indirectly! Try holding up a kitchen colander so sunlight shines through the holes, projecting tiny crescent shapes onto a wall or piece of paper. You can also use pinhole projection by simply poking a small hole in a piece of card and letting the sunlight pass through it onto a second sheet held below, keeping your back turned toward the Sun.
Now we just have to hope that there isn't too much cloud cover...
