Aparigraha (non-attachment)

Aparigraha is the practice of letting go.

Not disconnecting. Not becoming indifferent. Just noticing where we’re holding on too tightly, and loosening that grip.

On outcomes.
On people.
On identities.
On who we think we need to be.

It’s releasing control where we don’t actually have it. Letting things move as they are. Not forcing them into place.

Aparigraha is the moment we stop gripping what was never meant to be held so tightly. The exhale after effort. The unclenching in the body and mind.

I’m still learning this.

Seeing how much of my reactions are shaped by conditioning and past experience, and not needing to fix it, just noticing it.

And slowly, softening.

Because in that softening, there’s more space.

🙏✨

Balance isn’t something you find, it’s something you practice. In yoga, we learn that steadiness is not the absence of movement, but the ability to remain present within it💚

We don’t practice yoga to become better than anyone else… we practice to come back to ourselves 💙

To soften the noise, to meet ourselves with a bit more kindness.
To learn how to love ourselves a little more fully, as we are and from that place… something naturally shifts in how we meet others too because the way we treat ourselves is often the way we learn to treat the world

That’s the practice for me 🤍

Yoga isn’t always relaxing. It isn’t always about feeling good in the moment, and it’s not meant to be. Sometimes practice brings you face to face with discomfort, resistance, or emotions you’ve been avoiding. And that’s not a problem to fix it’s part of the work.

Getting real in yoga means you stop performing and start noticing. Noticing how you breathe when things feel tight. Noticing where you hold back. Noticing what you rush past when you’d rather stay comfortable. That honesty is where the practice deepens 🧡

Theres something really special about being on the receiving end of assists when you spend so much time holding space for others

As a teacher, I’m constantly cueing, observing, adjusting, supporting… so when I’m the one being guided, I notice how quickly my body softens

I genuinely love being adjusted and assisted in yoga. it helps me feel supported in a way that goes beyond alignment, it’s more about trust, surrender, and letting someone else hold a little of the weight for you
and I think that’s why I value it so much 🥹

do you like being adjusted in class, or do you prefer to move in your own space? 👀
