🌟 Estates and Facilities Day 🌟

Today we’re celebrating Estates and Facilities Day—an opportunity to recognise the incredible contribution of our Estates and Facilities teams at Holy Cross Hospital.

Working largely behind the scenes, they ensure our buildings, equipment and services are safe, compliant, clean, comfortable and welcoming for our patients, visitors, Sisters and staff every single day.

From maintaining critical infrastructure and medical gases, to responding to breakdowns and emergencies, managing safety systems, and delivering essential services like catering, housekeeping, laundry and environmental care—their work supports almost every aspect of patient care.

Much of what they do goes unseen when everything runs smoothly, but the Hospital simply could not function without them.

👏 A heartfelt thank you to every member of our Estates and Facilities Team for your hard work, professionalism and commitment throughout the year.

Thank you for everything you do to support our patients and the wider Hospital community. 💙

💙 Happy International Nurses Day. 💙

You are the heart of healing, the strength behind recovery, and the hope that means everything.

Today, on International Nurses Day, we extend our deepest gratitude to our extraordinary nursing team.

In our rehabilitation setting, your work goes far beyond clinical care. You walk alongside patients as they relearn, rebuild, and rediscover degrees of independence after life-changing physical trauma or neurological injury or illness. Your patience, expertise, and unwavering compassion turn small steps into meaningful milestones every single day.

You bring hope where progress can be slow, encouragement when challenges feel overwhelming, and dignity to every stage of recovery. Whether supporting complex rehabilitation plans, guiding families through uncertain journeys, or celebrating each breakthrough—no matter how small—you are truly at the heart of everything we achieve.

Your skill in blending advanced clinical knowledge with empathy and human connection is what transforms rehabilitation into recovery. Because of you, our patients don’t just heal—they regain confidence, purpose, and quality of life.

Thank you for your resilience, your dedication, and your exceptional care.

Some of our Caregivers have come together to say a big ‘thank you’ to the 524 runners who took part in the 2025 Boxing Day Run at Hindhead.

The much-loved event is organised by local man Matt Dellar and raised an incredible £5,400 in support of patients at Holy Cross.

Chief Executive, Frances Campion-Smith said: “Every penny will go towards delivering care that goes above and beyond the norm because this is what makes a difference and gives so many patients the hope and confidence to achieve an improved quality of life.”
