๐Ÿ’ญSian's Tuesday Thought of the Day๐Ÿฆ‹
Well here we are, the first Tuesday of the month! Another month further into 2026, yet it still feels like only last week I was wishing everyone Happy New Year ๐Ÿ˜‰.
For me, August is my first full month of being 1 year older, so I could say that this is really the start of my New Year. I'm very grateful that I can spend the first couple of months in my new year still enjoying the early mornings and late evenings being light and warm, as well as being able to travel to and from work without being stuck in the school time traffic! Not to mention, revelling in the general feeling of happiness as the holiday season is well and truly underway. It certainly takes the edge off the increasing number attached to me ๐Ÿ˜‚.
I am also very conscious of how lucky I am to have been given the opportunity to celebrate being in this wonderful world of ours for another year. Looking forward to all what is yet to come and trying to make the most of every day in the best way possible.
So my thought for today is, let's not focus on the increase to the number we are measured by every passing year, let's instead follow the good advice of Edward Stieglitz (who created impressionist paintings that revealed the beauty of the urban landscape in the 1800's) - "The important thing...is not how many years in your life, but how much life in your years." Whether you spend your time being busy bee's or going steady and slow like the tortoise, make sure you are putting as much life as you can into your days. ๐Ÿ’•

โ˜€๏ธ Make time for the little things.

Life can be busy, but taking a moment to look after your mental wellbeing can make all the difference.

Step outside and enjoy the sunshine, spend time with the people who make you smile, take a deep breath, and appreciate the little moments that bring you joy. Whether it's a walk in the fresh air, a chat over a cup of tea, or simply listening to the birds sing, small moments of self-care can have a big impact.

Remember โ€“ it's okay to slow down. Your mental health matters, every single day. ๐Ÿ’™

Florrie had a lovely visit with some very special neighbours todayโ€ฆ the horses in the field behind Cedarwood House! ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ’™

Having enjoyed watching them from her bedroom window, it was wonderful for Florrie to get the chance to see them up close and spend some time with them.

A lovely little moment enjoyed right on our doorstep.

Who needs the supermarket when you've got John? ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ˜„

John has been busy looking after the tomatoes in our greenhouse, and today it was finally time to pick them. We think they've turned out brilliantly!

Now the only question is... what should we make with them? ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŒพ

๐Ÿ’ญSian's Tuesday Thought of the Day ๐Ÿฆ‹
Being able to get out into open spaces and take in the colourful show that Mother Nature puts on for us, is something that should never be taken for granted. Having the opportunity to get to places where you can walk around in the countryside or stroll along the seafront is a real privilege.

It's not just having the necessary means to get to these places that we should be thankful for. It is the fact that we are able to make the choice of whether to go and make the most of the wonderful places around us or to decide not to.

The freedom of being able to just open our front door and get to where we want to go is something that not everyone has the luxury of. So my thought for today is, let's embrace the freedom we have to be able to choose whether or not we go out and about to see the wonderful places around us. My hope for today, is that we do all make the most of our freedom of choice and use it to feed our souls with the beauty around us.

๐Ÿ’ญSian's Tuesday Thought of the Day ๐Ÿฆ‹
This past week has given me reasons to reflect on things, yet again. I've been so busy getting on with the day to day and expecting it to be hot outside all the time, it came as a shock to the system to find my self shivering because it was cold, when I was walking home in the early hours of Sunday morning! (Not, that I'm usually walking around outside in the early hours, but football has a way of changing the normal routines ๐Ÿ˜€)
Without really noticing, I am now used to being warm all the time, not having to put a jacket or a jumper on to go outside. I'm used to seeing blue sky and sunshine every day. I'd forgotten what it felt like to be cold, even though it was only at the beginning of May we were waking up to frost. In short, I have started to take this hot sunny weather for granted!
How quickly we become accustomed to expecting things as a given, rather than being grateful for having them in our lives every day.
So, my thought for today is .... don't forget to remember to fully appreciate what we have in our lives on a daily basis, as all too soon these days will be mere reflections, and I for one, will have forgotten what it feels like to be warm ๐Ÿ˜€
