I saw someone comment, “Most Nigerians can afford expensive houses because when working in the UK if they convert pounds to naira, they get a lot of money.”

Yes, obviously the pound is stronger than the naira ; about £550 is roughly ₦1 million. But let’s put it into perspective: ₦1.4 billion is around £760K That’s still a very expensive house.

The exchange rate doesn’t make someone rich. You still have to earn and save that money. Lets not justify why we cant invest back home and dismiss other people’s hard work. 1.4M naira is 1M USD. Do content and see wonders 😬Olivia is a content guru give her flowers 🌷 🌺

Now leaving Lagos. Off to Biyula. See you soon

After seeing the house they bought in Lagos, I can only say congratulations to them! 👏🏾🏡 It’s beautiful.

Some people asked what I meant in my previous post, so let me explain.

If it were me, I would make sure I’m comfortable in the country where I currently live first too. That’s where I work, where my children go to school, and where my day-to-day life is. Once I’m stable there, I’d then invest back home too.

Home will always be home. ❤️ That’s why I understand why people want to build or buy property back in Africa. There’s nothing wrong with that at all. But for ME , I said ME my priority would be to first have a home where I live now, then build back home as well.

We all have different journeys and different financial situations, so there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. This is simply what makes sense to me.

Congratulations again to Olivia and her family on their beautiful new home. Wishing them many happy years in it. 🏡🎉

Some people will never support you, not because they don't see success in you, but because they are too afraid it will happen.
