Sam goes above and beyond for our residents and is now helping our staff understand better ways to support our residents living with dementia. Sam you are amazing ✨️


The following quote is from a member of our housekeeping after she attended a training session delivered by one of our dementia champions Sam Nutbrown. The training left her feeling so strongly and inspired to up the standard of our dementia care she requested some recognition for Sam and this was the quote she made…

" Recently I was very lucky to be invited to a training session which is very much a huge part of my job role though I am part of the housekeeping department, we are a whole home approach we are all a part of the care team. Sam has helped me to understand my role more so that I can understand residents and achieve more within the dementia community and give the best to my abilities"

Portsdown View and Rotary Club of Havant Strengthen Community Partnership with Life-Saving Bleed Control Kit
At Portsdown View, our commitment extends far beyond the walls of our home. Everything we do is centred around supporting our residents, their families and the wider community through meaningful partnerships and sustainable community initiatives.
Our collaboration with the Rotary Club of Havant began in June 2025, when we met with Graham to explore how we could work together to make a positive difference across our local community. Since then, we have continued to build a strong relationship, sharing a common goal of creating safer, healthier and more connected communities.
As part of this ongoing partnership, we are proud to now have a Bleed Control Kit available at Portsdown View.
Severe bleeding can happen anywhere and at any time. In those critical moments before emergency services arrive, having access to the right equipment can make a life-saving difference.
The bleed control kit has been designed to be simple and accessible for anyone to use. Each kit contains specialist equipment to help control severe blood loss, together with clear, easy-to-follow instructions that guide users through the process, even in high-pressure situations. Whether you are at work, visiting loved ones, or simply passing by, the kit provides reassurance that life-saving equipment is close at hand if ever needed.
As part of the six Connaught Care Collection care homes, this initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting not only those who live and work at Portsdown View, but also everyone in our local community.

What a wonderful day out for our residents! 🚤💙yesterday we enjoyed a fantastic trip aboard the **Alison McGregor** boat, taking in the beautiful sights of Southampton Marina before cruising along the peaceful Woodmill River.

There were plenty of smiles, lovely conversations, and stunning views to enjoy along the way. It's always so special to spend time outdoors, making memories together and appreciating the beauty of our local area.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this outing so enjoyable. Days like these remind us how important friendship, fresh air, and new experiences are for our residents. 🌞🌿

A huge thank you to everyone who visited Portsdown View Care Home today for our recruitment event. We’ve been truly humbled by the interest and loved meeting so many wonderful people, hearing about your experiences and learning more about your career ambitions.

We were also delighted to welcome Carla from Lifetime Training, who joined us to support our team members with career development guidance and advice. With such a fantastic range of courses and opportunities available, it was wonderful to see so many of our team members interested in continuing to grow, learn and develop their careers. 💙

🌟 A Warm Welcome to Our New Collaboration with Jamie Prentice and TympaHealth 🌟
At Portsdown View Care Home , part of Connaught Care Collection, we're always looking for ways to enhance the quality of life for our residents through meaningful partnerships.
It was a pleasure to welcome Jamie Prentice, Director of Professional Services at TympaHealth Technologies Ltd, who spent time with our residents and team, discussing the importance of proactive ear and hearing health. Jamie also met with our Deputy Manager, Charlotte, and Customer Relations Manager, Stella, to explore how we can continue to deliver the very best care.
Hearing plays such an important role in maintaining independence, confidence, communication, and overall wellbeing. Unfortunately, many older people live with untreated hearing issues that can impact their quality of life. By working alongside TympaHealth, we're helping ensure our residents have access to specialist ear and hearing care in the comfort of their home.
A huge thank you to Jamie for visiting us. Your patience, compassion, and professionalism shone through with every resident you met, and we're excited about what this partnership will bring.
