Adolescence is a time of incredible growth, but it can also be a time of uncertainty, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm.

This topic is deeply personal to me. As a teenager, I experienced my own mental health challenges, which shaped many of the difficulties I faced throughout early adulthood. Looking back, I know how important understanding, support, and the right guidance can be. Those experiences not only shaped who I am but also inspired my path into coaching psychology and my passion for supporting others.

As parents, carers, educators, and professionals, we often want to help, but knowing how to support a young person through life's challenges isn't always straightforward.

In my latest blog, I explore:
✨ Why adolescent wellbeing matters
✨ The growing impact of anxiety during the teenage years
✨ Practical ways adults can create safe, supportive environments that foster resilience and emotional wellbeing

Every young person deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported as they navigate this important stage of life.

If you work with, care for, or simply want to better understand teenagers, I hope you'll find something valuable in this article.

I'd love to hear your thoughts. What do you think is one of the most important things adults can do to support adolescent mental wellbeing?

Life can feel pretty heavy at times.

Here's your reminder to prioritise the little things that bring a sprinkle of happiness, a sense of peace, and a little more regulation to your day. 🀍

The beach is my happy place.. it reminds us of something we often forget in everyday life...
The waves don't resist the tide. They rise, they fall, and they keep moving.

Our wellbeing works in much the same way. We aren't meant to feel positive all the time. Growth comes from learning to navigate life's highs.

What do you do when you need that moment of peace & happiness?

πŸ“–πŸŒΏ Sometimes mindfulness isn't about sitting perfectly still or emptying your mind. Sometimes it's as simple as slowing down, finding a quiet moment in nature, and becoming fully present with where you are.

In a world that constantly encourages us to do more, mindfulness invites us to notice more. The warmth of the sun, the sound of birds, the pages of a good book, the rhythm of your breath.

As a wellbeing coaching psychologist, I often remind clients that mindfulness isn't about escaping life, it's about learning to experience it with greater awareness, curiosity, and self-compassion.

Today, I chose to pause, read, and reconnect with the present moment.
What mindful moment can you create for yourself today?

🌱 Your wellbeing grows in the moments you choose to be present.

One of the questions I'm asked most often is, "What's the best thing about your job?"

For me, the answer is always the same.

No matter what a client comes to see me for, whether it's managing stress, navigating change, building confidence, or improving their wellbeing, the most rewarding part is witnessing them discover their own potential.

Watching someone realise they're capable of far more than they ever believed is a privilege. Seeing their confidence grow, their resilience strengthen, and their perspective shift reminds me why I do this work.

As a wellbeing coaching psychologist, I don't give people strengths they don't already have. I help create the space for them to recognise, develop, and trust the strengths that have been there all along.

There is nothing more rewarding than watching someone move beyond what they thought was possible and step into who they're truly capable of becoming.

That's the best part of my job. πŸ’™

I've been a little quiet on here recently.

As I've mentioned before, it's really important to me to practice what I preach. That means taking the time to rest, recharge, and protect my own well-being too.

I've still been working away behind the scenes, and I still have availability for new coachees. I'm simply being more intentional with where I invest my time and energy, so that when I show up for you, I'm able to bring my authentic self.

I'll be honest... social media and business posts don't come naturally to me. I'd much rather be having real conversations than trying to think of the "perfect" post! But I know it's important to stay connected, so I'm making a promise to myself (and to you) to show up here a little more often.

Thank you for sticking with me. πŸ’™

🧠 Mental Health Self-Help: You Don't Have to Figure It Out Alone

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. While self-help strategies such as mindfulness, journaling, exercise, setting healthy boundaries, and building supportive routines can make a positive difference, there are times when additional support can help you move forward more effectively.

πŸ’› What if one of the simplest ways to improve your wellbeing is to help someone else?

We often think of kindness as something we do for others, but research shows that acts of kindness can also boost our own happiness, strengthen relationships, reduce stress, and create a greater sense of purpose.

In my latest blog, I explore the surprising psychology behind kindness and why helping others can have such a powerful impact on our own mental health and wellbeing.

Small acts really can make a big difference, for others and for ourselves.

In a world that often feels fast-paced, demanding, and increasingly disconnected, kindness can seem like a small gesture with limited impact. Yet research in psychology consistently demonstrates that acts of kindness not only benefit those who receive them but also have profound positive effects on....

Small Acts of Kindness, Big Impact πŸ’™

Lets continue to shine a light on kindness and also remember June is men's health month, reminding us that wellbeing is built through everyday actions, not just major life changes.

In my work as a coaching psychologist, I often see how simple acts of kindness can positively influence mental health, for both the giver and the receiver.

This month, consider:

✨ Checking in with a friend or colleague and genuinely asking how they're doing.
✨ Encouraging the men in your life to talk openly about their wellbeing.
✨ Offering appreciation instead of assuming people know they're valued.
✨ Making time to listen without trying to fix or solve.
✨ Showing yourself the same compassion you would offer someone else.

For many men, conversations about mental health can still feel difficult. A small gesture, a thoughtful question, or a non-judgmental space can make a meaningful difference.

Kindness isn't weakness. Connection isn't vulnerability. Both are strengths that support resilience, wellbeing, and healthier communities.

This June, let's make kindness intentional and mental health conversations more accessible for everyone.

πŸ’™ What act of kindness will you commit to this month?
