Advocacy West Wales

Advocacy West Wales Welcome to the page of AWW. Any content posted does not necessarily represent the views of Who is AWW? What is an Advocate?

AWW is a registered charity providing independent advocacy for people with a range of health or social care needs. The advocacy service is free, confidential and independent of other services. The role of the advocate is to help people communicate with an effective voice, enabling them to influence decisions that affect their lives. An advocate acts on behalf of another person to establish or prom

ote that person's rights. Advocates can help people:

Make informed choices; Access information; Talk to service providers; Put their views across at care planning and other meetings; Uphold their rights; Make complaints.

If you work with older people, or know an older person living in a rural area, please encourage them share their experiences with us.

The Commissioner’s Rural Voicse survey enables older people to tell us what the benefits and challenges are of living in rural Wales, and about the changes they’d like to see.

Find our survey here: https://olderpeople.wales/rural-voices/

Could you spare a few hours to change someone's day? Age Cymru Dyfed is seeking kind, friendly volunteers to join us in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. There are so many ways you can help:
✔️Face to face befriending
✔️Telephone befriending
✔️Supporting our Ceredigion Foot Clinics
✔️Handyperson volunteer Home Energy Checks
✔️Digital Champion: phones/tablets/computers
✔️Helping out at our befriending groups
✔️Help at one of our offices

You don't need special experience, just a caring nature, listening ear and a few hours to spare. Every conversation, visit and act of kindness helps +fifties feel connected, confident and supported in their community. Help make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply via our volunteering form:

A allech chi neilltuo ychydig oriau i wneud gwahaniaeth i ddiwrnod rhywun? Mae Age Cymru Dyfed yn chwilio am wirfoddolwyr caredig a chyfeillgar i ymuno â ni yn Sir Gaerfyrddin, Ceredigion a Sir Benfro.

Mae cymaint o ffyrdd y gallwch chi helpu:
✔️Cynnig cyfeillgarwch wyneb yn wyneb
✔️Cynnig cyfeillgarwch dros y ffôn
✔️Cefnogi ein Clinigau Traed yng Ngheredigion
✔️Gwirfoddolwr 'llaw dda' ar gyfer Gwiriadau Ynni Cartref
✔️Hyrwyddwr Digidol: ffonau/tabledi/cyfrifiaduron
✔️Helpu yn ein grwpiau cyfeillgarwch
✔️Helpu yn un o'n swyddfeydd

Does dim angen profiad arbennig arnoch, dim ond natur ofalgar, parodrwydd i wrando ac ychydig oriau i'w rhoi. Mae pob sgwrs, ymweliad a gweithred garedig yn helpu pobl dros 50 oed i deimlo eu bod yn rhan o'r gymuned, yn hyderus ac yn cael cefnogaeth. Helpwch i wneud gwahaniaeth gwirioneddol; byddem wrth ein bodd yn clywed gennych.
