β¨ Some days are for flowing. Some days are for simply breathing and moving gently.
I'm reminding myself that yoga meets us where we are. Today, that means chair yoga, gentle mat yoga, mindful stretching, and listening carefully to what my body needs.
Not every practice has to be strong or energetic. There is real value in slowing down, taking a few deep breaths, moving with kindness, and allowing space for rest and recovery.
A useful guide when returning to movement is the **talk test**: if you can breathe comfortably and hold a normal conversation while practising, the intensity is probably about right. If you're struggling to speak comfortably or feeling overly tired, it may be a sign to ease back and rest.
For a gentle recovery practice, you might enjoy:
πΏ Seated neck and shoulder stretches
πΏ Gentle seated or supine twists
πΏ Cat-Cow (on a mat or adapted in a chair)
πΏ Supported Child's Pose
πΏ Legs Up the Wall
πΏ Supported Forward Fold
πΏ Easy hip and ankle mobility movements
πΏ A longer relaxation or Savasana
Yoga isn't about pushing throughβit's about listening. Sometimes the most meaningful practice is the one that supports healing, restores energy, and helps us reconnect with ourselves.
Wishing everyone a day of gentle movement, steady breath, and self-compassion. π§ββοΈπ
