Just home from beautiful Sweden and a training course in unlearning!

I am struggling to articulate the experience that comes from an invitation to live under a different system just for a while. The concept that your very existence, and that of all other beings, is enough and there is no need to perform, compete and justify your place is fabulous. Stepping into a place of non hierarchy, non judgement and giving versus trading provides quite the shift in perspective of human patterns of behaviour and systems, allowing a softening to occur and trust to ease out fear.

The opportunity to connect with our environment took place in the most stunning settings of beaches, rivers, wetlands, fields, and mountain, rocks and forest and of course horses a plenty! In addition to conversation and reflection there was skinny dipping in a mountain lake, dinner on the pink cliffs, picking wild blueberries, picnics, ancient rock carvings and riding ponies with no saddle or bridle - talk about handing over control! Of course this could not be experienced in isolation and what a privilege to share it with such a wonderful group of like minded humans and to gain knowledge from the simply marvellous Emelie and her lovely girls. Thanks also to the wonderful Christine Dickson who never fails to shove a different lens in front of you, through which to view the world and your place within it! 🙈

📍Dell Farm, Hawkhurst, Kent

This clinic combines groundwork training and bodywork, giving you the tools to work with your horse from the inside out.

You'll learn to recognise where your horse is holding tension, understand why it's there, and how to release it.

You'll work directly with the nervous system to help your horse settle, soften, and fully engage in groundwork and connection training.

Masterson Charity Race Night Part One

This race night footage shows the exact moment when I dared to believe that it might just all go to plan and go to plan it did! All the fabulous guests got fully behind the racing and the pudding bidding and my marvellous helpers did a wonderful job to keep the evening moving at pace. We raised over £1,400 for Brooke, Action For Working Horses and Donkeys which far exceeded my expectations. The Eight Bells Country Pub and Kitchen and Lakedown Brewing Co. & Tap Room were generous hosts and did a brilliant job looking after us all. Massive congratulations to handsome Fresno who, at 20 years old, came first in his class at Windsor and secured a national qualification. A well deserved win for dedicated owner Jackie Robinson who gives her horses the best possible care and training. He certainly enjoyed his post event treatment today! 🤗🏆

Not long now to our sell out Charity race night, next Thursday 11th June, in aid of Brooke, Action For Working Horses and Donkeys. The official start is 7pm but do feel free to come early for a drink in the main bar. Food will be served promptly at 7.15pm so we can get on with the racing! Bets will only cost £2 but please please bring some pound coins as we don’t have a card machine. There will be a pudding auction halfway through sponsored by Cranbrook Farm Shop & Nursery.
