3 insanely easy ways to bring peace into any moment ❤️ Whilst, at the same time, bonding with your baby
1. The 2/4 breath. A simple breath in and a longer exhalation. Longer exhalation is the key. Breath in, your heart rate increases a little. Breathe out, this is the parasympathetic part, the part that brings the relaxation. A longer exhale tells your brain: ‘You’re safe. You can relax’
💫Now bring baby in - as you breath in
‘breathing in love to my baby’ and out
‘breathing away all tensions’ a powerful way to bring your baby to the forefront of your mind and remember with each breath that you love them. It works try it!
2. The body scan. Takes minutes. Lasts for ages. Start either end of the body and in your mind name each body part. Right big toe, next toe, middle toe.top of foot, sole of foot, calf, shin, knee, thigh, right hip...naming each part and as you do so allowing each part to soften. As in yoga nidra this short, simple method can provide instant relaxation. Try going deeper into the body and maybe you will notice your breath expand as you saylungs or your chest relax as you say heart.
💫Now bring baby in - naming baby’s body parts too, legs, tummy, hands chest, cheeks, forehead ....a beautiful way to relax your whole uterus and make baby super chilled. Works like magic.
3. The acupuncture point YINTANG - the
Hall of Impression - Like many
acupuncture/acupressure points, often used by people instinctively. Massaging or holding this point helps with sleep, including falling asleep and staying asleep. It’s also good for anxiety and feeling rested generally. Gently rub or hold the point for 2 or 3 minutes. Add an Oil perhaps.
💫Now bring in baby - this area of the head is also linked to the third eye chakra area associated with our inner wisdom and intuition so by stimulating this point it naturally creates an inward focus, you can feel it. Perfect for tapping into your body and baby.
