Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini on September 10, and this one’s important as the planet of innovation & disruption is still so early in a completely new story.
This is the first Uranus-in-Gemini era most of us have ever lived through, since it takes around 80 years to travel around the zodiac. Uranus landed in Gemini to stay in late April, and now it’s reached just 5°42′ before turning around to retrace its steps back to 1°41′ by February 2027.
So this retrograde isn’t taking us back through years of familiar territory. It’s taking us back through its first real pass through these degrees.
Gemini rules information, language, media, technology, learning, movement & the way ideas travel. Uranus disrupts whatever has become too fixed. Put the two together and you get a rapidly changing information landscape, new technologies, new ways of communicating & ideas arriving faster than we might know how to process them.
And because this entire retrograde stays inside the first decan of Gemini, there’s another layer to the story. Mercury rules the sign, Jupiter rules the face, and the tarot card connected with this decan is the Eight of Swords.
That combination raises some very Uranian questions.
What have we learned that we can’t unknow? Which old assumptions are starting to fall apart? Where have we mistaken repetition for truth? And how much of what feels like limitation is actually a story our mind has gotten used to telling?
This retrograde may not slow the world down, but it does give us a chance to go back over the opening pages & understand what’s already started changing.
