Today we had the absolute honour of celebrating an incredible milestone — your 100th birthday.

Reaching a century of life is something truly special, and it reflects a lifetime filled with experiences, memories, resilience, and wisdom.

On behalf of everyone here, I want to say what a privilege it is to have you as part of our home.

You bring so much character, history, and warmth to our community, and today we celebrate not just your age, but the wonderful person you are.

We hope your day has been filled with joy, laughter, and the company of those who care about you. May you continue to be surrounded by comfort, kindness, and happiness in the days ahead.

📢 We’re Recruiting: Bank Care Staff – Days & Nights

✨ Location: Penmeneth House Care Home
✨ Role: Bank Care Worker
✨ Shift Patterns: 8am – 8pm | 8pm – 8am
(Mostly night shifts, with occasional day shifts available)

Are you a caring, reliable, and compassionate person who loves making a real difference in people’s lives? 🤍

We are looking for friendly and dedicated bank staff to join our team at Penmeneth House. Whether you prefer working through the night or supporting residents during the day, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our residents feel safe, comfortable, and happy every single day.

What we’re looking for:
✅ A kind, patient, and respectful approach to care
✅ Willingness to work flexible shifts (mainly nights, with days when needed)
✅ Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
✅ Previous care experience is great — but a positive attitude and willingness to learn matter most! Full training is provided.

We’re committed to keeping both our residents and team safe, confident, and well-supported 💙

This week, we welcomed a new member of staff and provided essential refresher training for our current team, focusing on:

✔️ Basic Life Support
✔️ Safe Moving & Repositioning

It’s always great to see everyone working together (some staff enjoying it a little too much I think ha 😅🫢) building skills, and strengthening best practices to ensure the highest standard of care.

There’s something quietly powerful about a sunny afternoon in the garden 🌿

Today, care home managers weren’t behind desks or in meetings — they were outside, sitting shoulder to shoulder with residents, soaking up the warmth of the sun.

Laughter carried through the air, stories were shared, and for a while, time slowed down.

These moments matter.

They remind us that care is more than routines and responsibilities — it’s about connection, presence, and creating joy in the simplest ways.

A chair in the sun, a friendly conversation, a shared smile… sometimes that’s all it takes to make a day feel special.

Here’s to more afternoons like this — where everyone gets to pause, breathe, and enjoy the little things together ☀️
